Veteran 430 Bendigo, Victoria | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Went into the LBS today and was looking at TT bikes. I've starting putting some money away and I figure by this time next year I should be able to afford one plus some decent wheels. Interested in what any of you have to say about your TT bikes, the ones I can get locally are Specialized Shiv or the Cervelo P2. KC and Ice you guys both have Shivs don't you? If so what's been your experience. The guy I spoke to today reckons the Shivs are easier to customize the fit for a comfy ride, then again that could just be the sales pitch talking. |

Extreme Veteran 828 North Shore, MA. | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED I'm not sure if its the handling or the fit itself. I went to a very reputable place, but have had issues since I got it.... Parts coming loose, the fit, the numbness, now the hub is popping off. It just isn't good. It's a Felt S22. Got it in the summer. Hated it by the fall. I'm kinda stuck with it though. Hubby might keel over if I tell him I wasted 2k on a dud. Hopefully things will be better after I go back again on Friday. Veteran 430 Bendigo, Victoria | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Oh that sucks Deb, hope they can get it right for you, it's a lot of money as you say for a dud. If it's any consolation I had a lot of trouble with numb fingers/hands, feet and calves when I first started riding again. It took a couple of months but eventually my extremities got used to it, it could just be cause its a different ride and not as "forgiving" shock absorber wise as your other bike. Do you wear gloves when you ride? I got a pair of Giro gel gloves and they helped a lot. |

Extreme Veteran 828 North Shore, MA. | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Yes, I do have gloves, and it is a little better with them. However, I rode this am (with the gloves) and my little finger still has some numbness to it even now, some 16 hours later. Time will tell. I'm sure I'll figure something out. It's just a little frustrating and I'm venting. Sorry. |

Veteran 430 Bendigo, Victoria | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Don't apologise hun, vent away, that's what we are here for! I can imagine how frustrating it is, I'm a bit worried about getting a TT bike for that reason, cause I LOVE my roadie, it's like riding on a cloud... a very SLOW cloud, lol! How is the rest of IM training going? |

Extreme Veteran 828 North Shore, MA. | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Lol In that case I have a slow thunder storm. IM. Training really only kicked off this week. So far, so good! Was dreading getting back in the pool, but it actually went well - water was nice and warm so it made the transition back in rather pleasant. What's with Sheps sign up date change? |

Veteran 430 Bendigo, Victoria | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED lol @ slow thunder storm! That's good news about the swim, doesn't take long to get back into it. I'm so excited for you, I wish I lived over there so I could come and watch. Maybe one day when I have the money we should plan to do an IM together over there, that would be awesome!! I dunno re Shep.. they first said 10th of Jan and I was counting down and getting excited then the next thing on their Facebook page they changed it to the 31st of Jan, apparently they sold out within three hours for last years, so I'm hoping I get in... if I miss out I'll just do Canberra, that's in December, a bit further drive up north. IM Australia sign up is in May sometime, but by then I'll have the money... I know how you felt now waiting to sign up for yours! |

Extreme Veteran 828 North Shore, MA. | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED You should be fine. 3 hours is a decent amount of time to register in. There are some that go in minutes! Racing together would be fun - come on over!!! |

Expert 1566 | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your fit. I have never been officially fit but there are some good sites to help if you need it. I just tweaked stuff alot. Don't be afraid to do some tweaking to your handle bars, seat height, etc. Just make sure they SMALL increments. My thought is that no matter how well you get fit at a LBS you are still gonna need to make some adjustments once you actually spend significant time on your bike. One suggestions - once you get it to where you want it - make some marks or note your measurements so that if for some reason something gets moved you know where it goes. I spent ALL of last summer getting my bike set and finally during last long rides of 4-6 hours I was getting comfortable. I took it in for a setup 2 weeks prior to IMWI and they did some work on my stem and when I got on it I thought it was a different bike! I was freaking and spent the next few days tweaking again but was worried cause I didn't really have any long rides before my race. I wish I would have marked my handle bars or something just so that I knew. cheekymonkeys1 - 2013-01-03 12:29 AM I'm not sure if its the handling or the fit itself. Expert 1566 | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Gil - you can try skipping the HTML part. Just hit "Quote" then click and select the box with the names. Once you see it highlighted then hit CTRL C. This will copy it. Then got to your Training Log page and hit "Edit". You should see a flashing cursor - hit CTRL V and it should paste it in the box. Click ok and make sure the links work. I know this can get confusing so just let me know if it is still not working. gdelamora - 2013-01-03 8:31 AM Good Morning! Veteran 545 South Shore, MA | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Yes, there are a lot of us Baystaters! I think we have over 200 members now?? Crazy. Right now I'm officially registered for the New Bedford Half Marathon on 3/17 and Cohasset Tri on 6/30. Will most likely also register for Cranberry Oly in August and a couple more sprints (Escape the Cape, Buzzards Bay, and Marsh Madness are all on my radar...). I also plan to volunteer at the Patriot HIM again this year. cheekymonkeys1 - 2013-01-02 8:52 PM I know Hingham. Well, not exactly, but one of my good friends grew up there. I see the Baystaters at practically every race I've ever done. Man, there's a lot of you guys!Which races are you looking at for the coming year? |

However, when I click on the hyperlinks for individual members of our group, I get a "page not found" error message? (The link to the mentor group's forum works for me, just not the individual member links). |

Expert 1566 | Subject: RE: RFP GROUP 2013 - CLOSED Ugh! Every year I have this issue and I always forget how to fix it! What I think happens is that when you copy it off the forum it gets lost in the link structure o fthe code so that is why none of the names work. Did you hit "quote" before you copied it? If not just try copying this code directly from here: <br />

Truth is, it was a short course pool and I was looking to upgrade but was a bit lazy to drive further or get up earlier. I may need to start actually doing that in a few weeks. |
