I guess their tracking software doesn't have the capability to put a limit on the time between the videos.
Regardless, I'll be doing my best to do them back to back.
THIS. The software won't know if you split them. You will know though. That isn't very Sufferlandrian. |

Master 1460 Burlington, Vermont | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread TrainerRoad does list the start time of your workouts. And those who make decisions about who has and who has not completed the tour know how long your first workout was. |

Additionally ... there will be plenty of ridicule from the minions of Sufferlandria if you opt for the break. I'll be keeping the two remaining doubles back to back.
Can't link directly to the comment but it was in reply to a comment left by "Craig Howard" on the TrainerRoad FB page (not the Sufferfest FB page) TrainerRoad Hey Craig, sorry for the confusion. You can read the rules at this page: http://www.trainerroad.com/tour-of-sufferlandria?info=true Rides just have to be done on the day they are scheduled. They do not have to be done back to back to be eligible for prizes, they just have to be uploaded in the "day" window (which is 50 hours). We let people turn down workouts for a couple reasons. With an accurate FTP, the ToS would be impossible for all but the fittest riders. Riding 9 days in a row is a BIG deal for the large majority of our members. We wanted this even to be fun and inclusive, rather than elite. If you're doing an effort that you can be proud of, you're doing a good job. The second reason we allow rides to be turned down is because of fairness. We can't be sure that someone's FTP is really their FTP. Maybe they went a little easy on the test. Does that mean 100% is fair for them? Without doing blood tests while they ride we can't be sure that their FTP is accurate. There's also ways to adjust your power meter or rolling resistance with VP to be able to "cheat" your own power settings. So the short answer is you're still in it to win the prizes and you should feel proud of your effort (it was a monster effort btw). |

Extreme Veteran 933 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread Not being sure if it's back to back or not, I went true Suffer....did the Hunted and Extra Shot back to back yesterday, then did Extra Shot and Fight Club back to today. I'm still holding 100%, FTP 280. Hurts like crazy, but that's the challenge I laid down for myself. I'm going to be absolute toast when this thing is over, but I'm going to prove something to myself. |

Member 91 | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread dktri - 2013-01-28 11:59 AM I'm also optimistically hoping that my FTP will get pushed up 10+ points from this. I'll probably retest the following weekend as well when my legs will hopefully be back to normal. If anything I think the workouts throughout this Tour will certainly help with mental toughness needed for that 20 min test. I have my TR FTP set at 285 currently but I've slowly been adding 5 watts to it every other week or so when the workouts start to feel too easy, I just couldn't really stomach the thought of doing another test for awhile. I got a Continental trainer tire in November and re-tested my FTP at 315 which I was pumped about. Then a few weeks later after reading some things, I attempted another test except tightening the back wheel down 5 full turns on my KK and I got a serous reality check and the FTP was dropped down to 270. After that second test I told myself I'd take some time before attempting that again. I really enjoy the hilarity of this line. Ahh, the innocence of virtual power. I cried when I got a power meter and saw what my true FTP was. Ignorance truly was bliss |

Extreme Veteran 645 Media, PA | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread So it looks like people are still joining; as I write this, we're at 999 riders registered, with 585 in the Peloton, and 414 dropped. So is the Peloton count the ones that have done all the rides so far? It seems like the Peloton numbers are increasing (though I haven't written them down) |

New user 20 Chesterfield, VA | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread This link below from Trainer Road is one. I was reading thru the comments and it seems like 5 full turns seems to give a closer estimate in relation to a powermeter. But then again it only is just an estimate. http://blog.trainerroad.com/kurt-kinetic-power-curve-virtualpower/ |

114 | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread The people at my LBS say only do enough to prevent slipping then adjust tension based on gearing. 5 turns would be a ton of pressure on your tire. I'm normally around 2.5-3.
Anyways Day 4 done and I was shocked how many people dropped, I predict its a lot more after Day 3 ends officially. |

Master 1460 Burlington, Vermont | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread Finished. Those 4 minutes of leisure in between intervals were slices of heaven. I'm going to miss those in the days to come. Target Power = 188 Actual Power = 187 NP = 212 I'll keep it at 100% for tomorrow, but suspect I'll notch it down to 95% after that. I'm sort of shaking right now ... need food. |

Extreme Veteran 368 | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread finished stage 4 last night, stage 5 to come tonight. my legs are starting to feel more and more like gumby. every day It gets harder and harder to walk up the steps at work. Yes, the peloton did pick up ~200. i'm guessing it was more likely a sql query error than anything. Peloton is 687 now after stage 3, which i think is unfortunately a more realistic number. |

I think some people had problems with their rides uploading and they have been going through and correcting them. That's also why they pushed a new beta. |

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread Did stage 3 last night. That was brutal. I'm still having some issues with the sensor but I think I figured it out. Then my TR wouldn't start so I emailed support and they helped me through it by deleting a few files, but then once I deleted those files it deleted my trainer from the list, etc, etc. Took me over 2 1/2 hours to do the 1hr 20s that was Extra Shot + Fight Club. I was more upset than anything at going for so long and so late so I totally destroyed myself going hard after it. Stage 4 and 5 are going to be tough but stage 6 just looks disgusting. |

Extreme Veteran 933 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread Stage 4 was painful. They were *just* 4 minute intervals, but I could not get up to the top range on the last two, I made it up to about 95%/ Angels looks like a reprieve at this point, but stage 6 is going to knock about half the field out...I just hope I'm not one of them. I'm planning on putting as much time as possible between stage 5 and 6, I might do stage 5 late tonight and then 6 late Thursday to get two full sleeps in. I've gained a lot of respect (and I had a ton before!) for Tour riders from this. The longest tour I've ever done was 4 days, and I think I was extrapolating what the effort would be if I doubled it...I forgot how trashed the legs feel after 4 days... |

I'm sure I can knock out Stage 5, but Stage 6 is looking awfully scary! Stage 6-9 is going to be brutal. This is confirmed by the creator of Sufferfest himself in the podcast I listed above. Today was really the last of any workouts that contain any sort of recovery time. |
