Extreme Veteran 968 Cape Coral, FL | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open Woke up today with a sore back. Fells just like some muscle issues. Going to skip the swim today and put some heat on it to relax it. Nothing big since this happens to me every few months and only lasts a day or two. |

Now on my way to the first grad party of the season. Best one though; hecka old drunken pilots reliving their glory days is inevitable . You can always train but family is #1. You sound like my wife when I get together with old rugby or hockey friends...and of course she is right. Same old stories every time. |

Extreme Veteran 2098 Alberta | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open Qua17 - 2013-05-12 7:39 PM Well - I just checked the results from the race today. Official time was 1:20:59. My goal was to beat my time from last year which I did with 2 and 14 seconds to spare. The best part was the fact that I crushed the 5K with a time of 27:59. Last December, I ran one last 5k time trial to see how far I had come and clocked my fastest 5K of 2012 - 28:26. So the fact that I was able to run a faster time even after a crappy April means a lot. I won't lie - it hurt but I'm thrilled. I'll post a race report tomorrow (now that I have my times) but I just want to thank you all for the support! It means a lot! Awesome job David! I would love to see some of your original posts when you joined DH's group...you have come a long ways! Keep up the great work! |

New user 180 Auburn, AL | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open "Mmmmmmm Beer!" -Homer Simpson If there is still room I'd like to join. Here is my bio: NAME: Matt STORY: About a year ago I decided I needed to loose some weight and get in shape. They crazy idea to do this through tirathalon came when I saw a guy at the pool during my daughters swim lesson that still had his numbers on his arm from a recent race. It took me a good 6 months after that day to really get started but I'm now doing my best to make this a reality. FAMILY STATUS: Married just shy of 13 years with 3 kids: 8, almost 6, and 3. CURRENT TRAINING: I'm currently training 6 days a week with between 6 and 10 workouts a week evenly spread between swim/bike/run. THIS YEAR'S RACES: I have done 3 5ks. 2013 RACES: Current plan is to do the Calloway Gardens Sprint on June 16. After that is TBD. BEER PREFERENCE: IPA, the hoppier the better! WEIGHT LOSS: Started at about 250. I'm currently only down to about 243. I really need to start paying more attention to what I eat.

Extreme Veteran 2098 Alberta | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open Had a great weekend in Canmore! That is righ by Banff for all of you geographically challenged friends. Rode the Banff Legacy trail connecting the two towns together with my wife. It was an awesome ride in the mountains. The sun was shining on the snowy peaks and the trail was great. |

Welcome aboard the beer wagon! IPA's are the best! There are quite a few of us who have shed those unwanted pounds so you have come to the right place. Don't give up the food/beer you like just everything in moderation! 6 beer instead of 12, 1/2 pizza instead of whole etc. etc. and you will be down to 200 in no time. |

Swimming is good for a sore back! get your butt out swimming! I would love to but when I say sore I meant to say I can't even swing my arms in a circle and have to slide out of bed. Not a big deal though since it happens every few months. Getting older sucks. I'm gonna take your advise if it's a tad better tomorrow and play some catch up since you're probably right I should and it may help. May try to get in the light run today and just switch the 2 days around so I don't skip anything. We shall see what the afternoon brings. Edited by Burd 2013-05-13 9:04 AM |

Extreme Veteran 968 Cape Coral, FL | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society 2 - Open Just got in from my run. I have no idea how I did this but with a 5 run 2 walk I averaged 11:37. I looked down during my run parts and was constantly under 10:00. Had the HR spike a few times but overall I was at a moderate effort. The effort felt a ton less than it did when I was running before. I guess dropping the 32 pounds since the last run helped more than I thought. I can only imagine when I get in better run shape and drop the last 29 pounds how I'll be doing. |
