Expert 695 | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full comfort right off the bat.. I rode 20 miles the second day i had my bike... no soreness.. you should be fitted on that fit cycle and then those halp you choose the cycle.. my hammies where so tight that i couldn't be placed on a normal road cycle i had to go with the relaxed fit one. I rode the felt and the ocr1 I liked the stlying of the felt better(plus i couldn't get the compact double to shift right.) I spent 1800 on my bike after up gradining and everything I was right in your area to begain with. the only thing they really had to change on my bike was the stem. and they moved it three timer from the felt to the ocr back to the felt again .. I would ride more bikes.. i rode a bunch of the.. try the felt and the kona zing.. both are relaxed bikes |

Veteran 193 Havertown, PA | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full Ok gents - Just signed up for what will be my first tri. June 3rd Black Bear Sprint in the Poconos. Doh! Gotta go wipe the sweat off the keyboard now. Any thoughts on training for the next week? when to taper/rest? I'm viewing this as part of my training for my Oly 3 weeks later so I'm not sure if this should just count as another training day then...?

Member 92 Brownsburg, IN | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full Alright Greg!! Way to make the leap, hope the keyboard is still working. For all that are wondering what bike I got, I went with the Giant OCR Alliance 1 after trying out a few others. Not a whole lot of choice in shop that have 63cm frames, and I honestly got a bit tired of looking. I bought a pair of Nike shoes, which felt good in the store but caused hot spots very badly on teh outside of my little toe. Only 3 miles and this was a light ride as you can imagine it was my first time on a bike in quite some time. So what I didn't imagine is how much I was tearing up the bottom of the shoes practicing clipping in and out. Oh well, they will go back regardless. I fell as well, but somehow had the fear of hurting my bike and kept in air with legs holding bike off ground and doing a reverse pushup if you will. So I think I may have at least pretty good form for falling. |

Expert 695 | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full VERY nice bike..... it's one of the ones i was looking at... the only thing i would worry about is flats.it seems the years past has had some trouble with that and the don't seem to be that great. Steep and cheep has some nice deals on tires if you watch that often... |

I took a tumble off of my bike last week while trying to get my car keys out of my pocket It was funny how I managed to hit the ground and roll so my bike never even touched the ground! She is my precious! |

Veteran 193 Havertown, PA | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full same here. ordered it yesterday from wetsuitrental.com. I've read mixed reviews on them so i hope it works out well. between that, some miscelaneous pieces and parts, the registration fee, and the USAT fee i'm pretty heavily invested in this puppy...good thing the credit card bill comes after the race!! |

Master 1668 Cinnaminson, NJ | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full OK boys i am back on-line... hope you guys didn't miss me to much.... Kevin -- very nice ride, best of luck with it.... Don't even sweat the falling thing, i went riding today and a gal fell twice within 30 yards of each fall. We all have done it so don't worry about it... Greg -- I think you'll really enjoy Black Bear a few of my teammates will be doing the 1/2 and maybe the sprint. I am sure it will be a great race. As far as a taper: I would suggest a very small taper considering this is a small race and it's not your "A" race... You week should be light and maybe some short speed work, nothing long. If you needed to go long some where i would say in the swim, since there is no impact. The last day i would do anything would be Saturday, maybe a short 2 mile run (if you can). Don't have a big meal on Saturday night, make your big meal Fri night, you don't want to have all that in your belly on race morning. I would say have a light meal on Sat night. I have never ordered anything from wetsuit rental.com so i don't know what to tell you, other than make sure it fits. When you get into the water, pull the wetsuit away from your body so you get a layer between you and the wetsuit. This will create some space in case it is tight and this layer of water is designed to keep you warm.

Member 92 Brownsburg, IN | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full Hey thanks all for the help with the bike. I have now logged 30 miles on it, and loving every minute. I have always had very strong legs and for years wondered how I would fair on a bike. Last 2 rides of 10 miles I have averaged over 16 miles an hour, seems like most ride around 20 in the sprint logs I see. So definitely have some work to do. I get professionally fitted on Wednesday. Now for a question. Saturday a local YMCA is having a tri. I'm seriously thinking about just going for the experience, with the goal of finishing. I will go light on working out Thursday/Friday. Debating it. I feel confident I will finish, and that will be my only goal. What do you guys think? |

Veteran 193 Havertown, PA | Subject: RE: kleinrider Group - Full John - good tips, thanks. I read the water will be in the low-mid sixties so i especially like the warm layer tip!! BTW, what team are you on? Kevin - i say go for it! why not right? Then you can start having triathlon anxiety dreams like me. Last night I had one where the triathlon started at the top of a water slide. When we landed at the bottom I realised I was the only one not in a kayak which you needed to get to the swim start, so I added an extra 2 mile swim to my race. Man, I need to get this over with!!!
