CHRIS - We do need paper plates. But we are good on the plastic silverware and cups.

I'm sorry I won't be there- my kids have b-day parties to go to. I'll be eating store bought cupcakes while y'all have fun

I'm sure you will design some super-cool stuff. I can't wait to see it

Ok, I'll bring fruit, dip, and baked stuff from TJs then. I'll also bring lots of mint from my yard. No need for anyone to buy that stuff. It grows like weeds here.

Jen, could you PM me the directions/address? I can't find the Livejournal stuff, must have deleted it with everything else when BT told me my inbox was full...

Paulettejo - 2007-08-09 1:11 PM Tanya...if I can come (still working on a sitter, but it more likely that I can come), I can do the guac...I am a guac snob too, anb we don't have any cooking aparatuses at our house (stove...stove top), so I gotta stick to the cold stuff.  I don't want to get in on your territory, so if guac is yours then maybe I can make Sangria (I've got a good recipie for that too).  Or if no one likes the sangria...then what else cold can I do?

You can do quac! That would be awesome. I'll just stick with the enchiladas and a baked good. Sweet! thanks!

Paulette I REALLY hope you can come!

We will miss you Sally, enjoy those cupcakes and we will be sure to post the final designs for approval before anything is FOR SURE!

Here is what I have for the party so far:

Paulette - Guacamole
Astrid - Fruit, Dip, Baked goods
Chris - Paper plates, maybe bring some DRINKS?
Dan - Grilled chicken and citrus salsa salad
Jen - Baked turkey chimichangas and a dessert
Aaron - Chips, salsa, dip
Tanya - Enchilada Casserole, Dessert

I am assuming Harry and Cora are mojitos, but what else do we need? I guess we could do margaritas. Do people like margaritas? And someone could bring the Corona and LIME! We need some non-drinker fare too!

I'm not sure I can make it. Wife has been home with the kids all week long, so me bopping off without them in tow [at least] is probably not going to go over well. I've been avoiding broaching the subject.

Again, the selling point here is that it is to finalize our logo and create the tri uniforms.  This is important stuff that you want to be a part of.  No need to mention the booze, hot tubs and tri babes! hahahaha!

More news on the sponsorship front for discussion Saturday:

I spoke to Carrie at Inside the Bungalow (way cool coffee shop and yoga studio in downtown Mesa). They are starting up a Yoga for Athletes class on Sunday mornings taught by a 2 time Ironwoman, and she had several possibilities for a sponsorship arrangement.

  1. 1st class free for our members
  2. 10% off yoga drop ins and packages
  3. A group rate for Yoga where we buy a batch of classes as a group and can all deduct from them.
  4. If enough people are interested we can have our own yoga class.

The last one is a given. If at any time we can guarantee a bunch at a certain time we can have our own custom tailored class. That's kinda what we're doing with the Yoga for athletes, but it would be a feature for our club to advertise.

We can talk about a choice between the other 3 on Saturday.

Because the meeting is right over supper time.  We have to eat and fuel up for the Sunday ride.  It's not party food....it's training fuel.  Details....details!

OK DAN go to the grocery store on your way out and just bring something!!! OR if you and your wife want to come bring her! Find a babysitter, there are tons of little teen age girls who need money!!! OR you can just stay short. We will do logo stuff quickly and those who want to stay later can and those who need to leave can...hot tubs are not FUN untilt he evening because hot air and hot tub is not a goodmix anyway.

Paulette - Stay as long as you wish. If you need to leave early that's no problem.

Harry - LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! I especially love the "custom class" idea because I am a little hesitant to do the boga on Sundays (get it, bike/ yoga)? See if we are going to do yoga this Sunday I am going to do my long ride on Sat and then yoga on Sunday. I REALLY want to do yoga this week, btw. BUT if we can do a class that better works with the clubs schedule then HECK YEAH!! AWESOME!!! Can we put their logo on our tri suits? Do they have a logo? I love all the sponsors we will have!

Tanya - have we approached Focus yet or are you waiting on tri uni's? Will we pencil in their logo for the time being?

Yeah. I really want to have something to show him so he will know we are serious.  Same goes for my boss.  I was thinking the logos could go on the back around the saying.

Why hesitant to do the Boga? or Roga or Soga as the case may be? Post LSD is a good time to really stretch out and repair some damage. A snack to hold you over for a later b-fast is all that's really required. Plus then we can retire to Crackers and Co for a REALLY good b-fast.

I would REALLY like to give Yoga a try, but Sunday morning will not work for me with church schedule. I also would feel better about taking a class with people I know (who know that I don't know a single thing about Yoga) rather than dropping in on a class full of strangers.

Hmmm.

Harry - Unfortunately for me its just a time issue right now. With school starting on the 20th Saturdays and Sundays become STUDY/ WRITE THESIS days. I will most likely be swapping every other weekend (bike, yoga, bike, yoga) if everyone stays on Sundays which is completely cool. Would be nice to have some flexibility here and there though (like we are with the swims).

Count me in for Corona's and what ever else (let me know). That yoga thing is great, when it starts shaping up for groups start a thread and I may make my way down there.

I can't decide what to bring for dessert. None of these are a Mexican inspired dessert, but I am not Mexican, so you get what you get.  Which one should I make?

 - Black Devil Cup Cakes (Choc cake with sweet reduced fat cream cheese center and mini choc chips on top
 - Super good/moist carrot cake with RF cream cheese frosting
 - Peaches and Cream cake (again more sweet RF cream cheese, peaches, cinnamon.....I am feeling cheesy I guess)
 - Peanut butter bars
They all sound good to me, and I can't pick!!! Help!!

I am still not sure what my schedule for tomorrow is yet. I think we are going up to Flagstaff tonight to climb Humphreys tomorrow, but that depends on if our friend is in town. We should be down off the mountain early enough to get back in time for the par-tay though, unless we decide to hang out in Flagstaff some more? I don't know, we always wing these things.

If I come (and I probably will, I am just bad at guaranteeing my presence anywhere at certain points in time) I will bring beverages of both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety. My boyfriend is coming too. I don't want to slut him out yet, but he's an ace bike mechanic and a framebuilder so if you need any fitting advice he's probably happy to hep.

Is this a good time to let someone know I don' t like Mexican food?  Chipotle is about as Mexican as I get...and I just get those soft tacos...cheese and meat.

Ohhh....you freaken Canuk!  You live in the southwest now!! Time to bring the heat tollerance up to a bit above black pepper!!!  My enchiladas are not spicy or super mexicany.  Chicken, cheese, tortillas....what's not to love?  You can bring a PB&J just in case!! :-)
