Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: RE: Splash Through the Silly Season December Swim Challenge AlexB - 2007-11-28 7:40 AM As this will be my 1st BT challenge I'm fine with any team. Sign me up tentatively for 30,000 yards - I may revise this on Thursday after my ortho appt to assess the healing of my stress fracture. No problem... just let me (or when I get teams sorted your team) know if you need to change it! Best of luck for the appointment! |

I would love to participate. Very new at the swimming thing, so I don' t really know how to set a goal. Lets say around 10,000. I think I can do that. So how does the whole "challenge" thing work? How do the teams get decided? Thanks for having patience with the newbies The challenges are WAY fun!!! I am doing my first challenge this month. Super Cat from Oz will organize who goes into which team. All you need to do is keep track of of your workouts on BT and keep up with the forum threads. BTW....each team will have its own thread so you can talk to everyone on your team. Some teams chat A LOT!!!! They train A LOT, too!!! Good luck with your training! Cheers! Heh. Yes. We finally got some credit for training... Finally some redemption. |

Pro 6582 Melbourne FL | Subject: RE: Splash Through the Silly Season December Swim Challenge light_sabe_r - 2007-11-26 9:05 PM Do flipper/pool buoy/fickboard distances contribute to the grand total?? The distance I do in the pool is always set in stone by my coach... since I'm doing squad. We normally do between 1.8-2.5km. Today we did 3km!!! So it fluctuates. If I predict - 2km per squad + 600m from races. That leaves me with 12600m Should be able to break that. Esp if I "warm up" before the two races. I WILL break this distance during week 3. If I don't then I'm screwed because Both pools that are nearby me will closed between the 25th to the 1st January. FYI, I made a note to change the SS formula for you so that you don't get penalized for meeting your goal early. Thanks for the note on this. |

Did you say we could increase our goal if we wanted to during the first 3 weeks? I really need to get better at this swimming thing! Absolutely... you can increase your goal at any time! |

Set mine for 600 and once that's complete I'll just up it, and then up that, and then up that... kind of like black jack... "Dealer I'll take another..." Seriously I'm in, but as yesterday being my first day in the pool in YEARS!! I think I'll wait to actually submit my yardage after my SECOND swim tomorrow. |

No worries - you can always go for time if your rather? As in... Is like to spend 10 hours swimming in December... might be a good place to start rather than yardage? |
