I think I'm getting what you have/had I got up an hour late this morning and I feel awful - heavy, shaky, feverish, weak. Yay. I was supposed to run and overslept, which I now know was a very good thing. I hope it improves as the day goes on. Blah. Judi's suggestion of the bottle of booze and lots of covers is sounding pretty good right now I'm still feeling pretty bleh - brought my own box of tissues to work today.. I tried the booze last night and it didn't kick it - lol! TOPPAGE! Edited by lastcall2003 2008-10-21 9:46 AM |

Pro 4608 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: The Mysterious Dark Arts - l'acte 2 It's official. I'm sick. I'm incubating some horrible viral nonsense for sure. I dragged myself to work and am bundled up with tea and keeping my office door closed all day. If I weren't a freelancer, I would have slept until noon. I'm canceling my social plans tonight and going to bed ridiculous early so I can hopefully feel better tomorrow. I have a big day planned - a morning swim, possible run and my Cervelo bike fitting. I want to feel as good as possible for that! Don't worry about my goal, I'm over 70% and will easily reach 100. |

I'm going to try to beat this now so the marathon doesn't have yet another obstacle, otherwise on November 2 I'm turning off the alarm, pulling the covers over my head and skipping it. |

Iron Donkey 38643 , Wisconsin | Subject: RE: The Mysterious Dark Arts - l'acte 2 AccidentalChef - 2008-10-21 12:34 AM Awesome day today... would have been better if I'd had time to get out on the bike, but I'll take what I can get. Today was my second day snowboarding this season, and I was easily 4 times as good as I was the first day... the technique required for the style of riding I do is very precise, so it takes some time to get back into it. I did get a bit overconfident and have one huge crash. I was matching turns with a ski racer on the way down, and folded the nose of the board. Folding the nose was a result of initiating the turn too aggressively with the front foot, which caused the nose of the board to hook hard and effectively become a spring, which launched me into the air pretty hard. Usually this ends up causing at least a full flip in the air, which I'm pretty sure happened today. I landed hard, so I expect to have some annoying full body soreness tomorrow, kind of like what you feel for a day or two after being in a car accident. As a side note, it amazes me what our bodies can take without breaking (getting launched into the air at 30mph) and what causes injury (running too hard after a couple of weeks off). I also got in some run/walk today... the knee is getting better and better, and as long as I don't get stupid and overdo anything in the next couple of weeks I think I might actually be healed. I'm going to have to be careful to get all of my time in without pushing too hard. This won't be a problem if I don't skip any of my planned days. The end of knee pain should be enough to motivate me to stay on track. Anyway, hope everyone's week is off to a good start. g'night dark arts! Only ONE post with all this information?? This should have been a 3-poster! |

And on top of it all, I have Blondie stuck in my head. "When I met you in the restaurant. You could tell I was no debutante. You asked me what's my pleasure, a movie or a measure? I'll have a cup of tea. And tell you of my dreaming. Dreaming is free. Dreaming. Dreaming is free."
"The man from Mars stopped eating cars and eating bars. Now he only eats guitars!" Great! Now that song will be stuck in my head all day. "Fab Five Freddie told me everybody's high..." |

(Don't answer that second part.... ) I am always hungry after a long run. It's like I can't get enough food. For me it will last well, always since I try to continuously push myself hard. |
