Friday drive-by.

About to run a couple errands, then head out to my tennis tournament (today-Sunday).

Y'all have a great weekend.

meherczeg - 2009-05-15 9:20 AM preach, i started reading 90 minutes in heaven last night and for some reason i keep picturing you are the guy who wrote the book (donny piper)

have you read it?  it really makes me wish i were dead.  is that weird?

no I haven't read it... someone else told me I should... it's on my list, but pretty far down...

I just finished The Shack a week or so ago... so popular stuff is lower on my list for a while...

snob.

i bought 2 books last night - 90 minutes and "when you are engulfed by flames"

quite opposite authors, themes, etc.  oh well.

When You Are Engulfed In Flames was all right - a quick read, anyway. Wasn't as amazing as I expected, considering the hype around Sedaris, who I think in general is pretty funny.

I buy "unmatching"  books all the time. The people at Barnes and Noble probably think I'm a weirdo.

i LOVED holidays on ice - it was my test drive of sedaris because of the hype.

I've been super-sh*tty about reading lately - haven't been doing enough of it. I need to stop effing around on BT before bedtime. Too many books on my bookshelf that I haven't touched yet. Luckily, I think we're reading one of them this summer for a 7-week long study with my young adult group, so I can put that one off Or perhaps I want to read it BEFORE, so when we start going through it, I'll already be familiar with it.

Yeah, I saw this... there are several good shows at Verizon this summer that you can get $10 lawn tickets for.  Me and some friends were thinking about getting Aerosmith tickets but I have a contact that might be able to get us free seats up front.  He said if nothing else, he could comp our food and booze for the night.  Sweet!

i'm going to be out of town for def leppard/poison/cheap trick which sucks, but might do crue fest.

wow, all i need is a cat-style hair cut and a camaro and to change my name to tawny.

I didn't see that part - I walked downstairs and Dwight was saying something about people getting hurt. Then it cut to Jim and Pam at the doctor's - that's all I saw.

It's pretty funny with all the other branches at the picnic and some of the characters have 'twins' at the other offices.

I got to talk to him for a bit when he was at Nebraska filming `Tommy Lee Goes to College' at the football game. I was working media and he was on the sideline in his band uniform just before halftime so I went over and struck up a conversation. He was super cordial and seemed way more intelligent than I would've suspected. He said `I'm really nervous. You're a report, don't you guys always carry booze? I could use a shot or two.'

What's your favorite Crue song?

I remember in about 1985 or 1986, I can't remember exactly, hearing `Home Sweet Home' for the first time ever. And thought it was the greatest song ever made. And then the video came out and I was like `I wanna be a ROCK STAR!' because some girl flashed them while they were on stage.

Awesome... I saw Soundgarden around 94.  One of the last shows at the Omni in Atlanta.
