Heading back to Brazil for a couple days.  Looking for Ann's song list so I can update my ipod for the trip.  At least the trip is short.  I leave Sunday and get back Friday.  First tri next Sunday.  So I got my last bike/run brick before the race in.  It felt good.

Have fun, but be safe. I hope you aren't too tired from your travels for your tri.

Thanks!  I'm coming back a day early to rest.  I'm usually wiped out the day I return.

Do you guys ever feel burnt out?   My ultimate goal is an IM, but my wife is already hinting that im spending too much time training.  This, on top of the fact that Im lazy is really making me bumed/burned out!  You guys ever get to this place?

And I havent even really begun to train......

I doubt you are lazy - look at the picture of that vette!  First of all!!!

You need to discuss with the wife before it gets resentful (speaking from experience)! Second of all!!!

Lastly (I did it backwards I know ) - I generally don't feel burnt out but I know when I need to cut back and sometimes it is a longer period than other - but I always want to workout - whether it is relaxing or hard - just to keep the blood flowing.

I don't think this makes much sense - but I hope it helps!

She has gotten jelous of the car thing before, but then Itll get me some side work$$$ and she forgets all about it.   Plus I usually work on my cars while shes asleep.  Its easier to work on a car when your so tired your eyes are crossing than trying to do anything physical at that point.  I have literaly fallen asleep laying under a car!  Plus, when your getting paid.
Wait, I fell asleep in the pool the other day too........
For anyone else into cars, or is sentimental, this is my next project.  My great grandpa(Sticky Rickett) bought this '22 willys touring car new, then later took it apart and built a saw mill out of it.  I found it last year on some land I enherited.  Im going to build a roadster pickup out of it and paint "Sticky's Rod Shop" on the doors.  I never met him or his son sticky Jr(my grandpa).

Dude - that is awesome!

^---- What he said!

That is one heck of a find! Very cool to be able to connect to him that way.

Now I wish I could restore my 1948 five window chevy pick up. It mopes in the garage!

I love that era truck!  Here's a '52  we built.  6.0 LQ9 with a magna charger!!!  Its one that covers LOTS of magazines!
Bring that baby to me and she'll NEVER mope again!?
??

Painted the pink 5 window in the background too.  Guy swears up and down"its not pink, its sea corrol"  lol

It is amazing what can make you have motivation to run. I really do NOT like rap music but I have a couple of really angry rap songs that can get me up and over a hill like nothing else!

I'm not going to lie, I have one of her songs in my running mix too.  Since I'm not THAT secure with myself, I always used to turn it down when it came on at the gym.  Embarassed

I have 2 kids, if the TV is on it is usually on The Disney Channel. I have a lot of Disney music on my computer.

Listen to what you want to. Who cares what other people think!

Speaking of Disney movies and music. A number of years ago I had the flu. I was finally able to get up and moved from the bed to my couch and was lolling about. It was spring time so I opened the windows. The neighbor had been having their roof repaired all week. I had been vaguely aware of hammering and such while I was in my fever in bed. Now. I heard one, deep voice call out: "What do you say?" and three men from the other side of the roof sang in re;ly: "Bibble dee bobble dee doo." Then they all proceed to sing the rest of the song. Evidently the children inside the house had been playing the same movie over and over. It was hilarious hearing these big burly men sing Disney tunes on the roof. The laughter probably made me heal faster!

This is PRECISELY why there is NO Disney music on my ipod, lol...must admit doing a double-take when I saw Miley on the playlist, but would imagine that some folks might think it's amusing that my Israeli music playlist includes a rocked out version of some Hebrew prayers.

At least Dana now tolerates my car music without too much griping, thanks to Guitar Hero - if it's on Guitar Hero, it's now marginally acceptable, which is enough grace for me.....

ironannekidd - 2010-05-06 6:54 AM I tried out 4 other saddles before I got an Adamo. Other saddles, even with the small cutouts, put too much pressure on my girl bits. I love my Adamo. It is a bit wider, but I haven't had any problems.

WOW... what a difference! Schlepped to a big bike shop, and so worth it - rode the Adamo around the parking lot - what they rec'd first - and what an incredible difference. Had the expected need-to-break-it-in-soreness in the back, but without the pain in the center that I've had with the other saddles. Then they re-fit the bike to me, based on the new seat (what my own local shop didn't do)..he predicted the seat would now be too high, and it was. AND, while having me pedal to check the fit, discovered a defect in one of the gears, called Shimano, and ordered me new parts under warranty, which oughta come back when I need to come back with the test-drive saddle. I'd never walked in their door before today, either. Very cool.

I'm not going to lie, I have one of her songs in my running mix too.  Since I'm not THAT secure with myself, I always used to turn it down when it came on at the gym.  Embarassed

I have 2 kids, if the TV is on it is usually on The Disney Channel.

Smile

I am intrigued!

http://voicesforisrael.org/chazak/ . The story behind the CD is pretty moving, and I really like a lot of the music...

I read some of the stories. We take a lot for granted here!

I hope every one has great weekends. I am behind in my training due to life and work and it looks like the trend is going to continue through out the weekend.
I have the son's graduation, a funeral for a long time family friend and out of town guests coming in for both events. We will see what I get done.

Balance, seeking balance.

ironannekidd - 2010-05-06 6:54 AM I tried out 4 other saddles before I got an Adamo.

Very cool.

Sounds like great service.  Awesome that you have your saddle issue resolved!

Thanks! It really was great service - tho it also left me disappointed that my preferred (closer) store didn't even have me hop on to check the ride w/ the bfly, let alone re-examine fit with the new seat. So, was pleased in the end - and will keep my fingers crossed for the ride this weekend!

Morning everyone!  What is on tap?

I need to work on my next home project, tiling the fire place mantle.  I'm a;so planning of going to a friend's parent's house to OWS a bit.

Sounds like a good day for mortar - the drum teacher almost falling on my stoop was a sign that i need to finally get around to repairing the stone steps on our stoop. Tile work's fun. Have a 2.5 mile run on tap, too, after the inevitable weekend youth soccer game.... Enjoy your swim!

I leave for Brazil tomorrow afternoon.  I should start packing tonight instead of tomorrow afternoon.

Did my first ever OWS today.  The details are in my log, overall it went very well though I have a lot of sighting and technique work to do vs. swimming in a pool.

Question, when you get in and get ready to race, do you let water in by pulling at the opening for your arms and legs or just let it work itself in as you move around?
