I can see an afternoon nap in my future today. Yet one more benefit of a home office.

I USUALLY don't complain, I find it a waste of air BUT I have worked about 70 hours already and had a sleep over twice in my office this week.

I can't do it as easily as I could 10 years ago, and I lost my edge and swore at the feild service manager in front of my entire staff, which I hate mixing emotion and business togeher.  I did it and shock the entire lab.

You need a mental health day... or, a Snickers.  Or just something chubby?

On the scripts.... I had one that was a 5 day script, with 2 refills, but you could only refill every 30 days.  The reason for the short duration and the long wait was the medication was more harmful to the liver than a sledgehammer.  Why they bothered to give me refills, I still don't know, but after the first 5 days, I tried to get a refill and was rejected.

ETA:  Mornin' TAN!  Mornin' Bestie

I need someone to do something nice for me......can you do that Bestie?

You run so late at night, how do you ever go to sleep?

Hi TAN!

Another impromptu wine night with the girls last night.  Good times and lots of laughs, but it gets old when every time I see them they tell me that I'm too thin and should put some weight on.  Sigh.

What's that saying... that when people start asking if you're sick, you know you're ALMOST to your race weight? heh...

Heh - I actually think I'm at an okay thinness, but I'd like to tone up now.  Endurance training isn't all that conducive to building muscle!

It feels weird to not have any races to train for at the moment though... weird, I say!

Oooh you can come lift with me for a while!!

Something like that. I got a lot of those comments while peaking my marathon training. I think it was because I looked less like a swimmer and more like a runner, at least for a little while.

I've never worried about race weight, but I feel like with my goals after Army training, I will need to...

Don't question the temps, just accept and enjoy them.  With wine.

Sure thing, how about a nice massage and some chocolates?

Last night was later than normal because I dragged my feet getting started on my trainer ride, but on weeknights, I usually have enough going on in general that I just cannot get out the door to run before 9pm.  Unfortunately, I'm also usually awake at least an hour after I finish my run, which makes the early mornings suck

Thank God for a job with Flex Hours.

Yes it is.  Not too many women in the competition though.  It should be interesting.  I finally got my hands chalked up enough the other night to not lose my grip on the bar and finished the night with a max deadlift of 295, though, so hopefully Iwon't look foolish in the competition.

Heh!  You have no idea how funny that is for me...  Tony and I were at the wedding of his college roommate and the night before the wedding there was a roast of the groom.  The groom's elderly aunt told a story of when he was a toddler with the final line being "Pew pew pew pew... I guess Pete found his own little light saber that day..."

Rolling on the floor laughing after that one!

This is very exciting! I was thinking of you, trying to channel strength, when I was sucking so bad at my 1rm lifts yesterday. I have a long way to go on form to lift heavier. You're gonna do great!!!!!!

Thanks I really appreciate that!

Yes form is seriously important or you end up hurting yourself.  Luckily one of my best training buddies is a stickler for form!!  Take the time and do it right is always the better option, particularly when you got to around our ages!

Sometimes my job is fun.  Today for example, I am working on a "fun" fitness session/field day plan for my cadets to end the semester of training.  Here is what I have so far:

We have a field house with an indoor track so there is plenty of space.

Event 1: Biathalon  using Nerf guns and paper targets; run x laps shoot 5 targets relay

Event 2: Balloon race (inlfate, release and repeat until you cross finishline)

Event 3: Dizzy Bat then run zig zag course. (its a classic)

Event 4: Gladiator dodgeball: (small group running through a course while avoiding dodge balls and perhaps Nerf bullets)

Event 5:  Twister (clothes to stay on, but I am going to use tape to mark the spots so the play area is bigger)

Event 6: Card Deck of fun (oh yeah, draw a card and pay the price)

Event 7: Hoola Hoop race (stand in a circle, holding hands move hoop around circle)

Event 8: Relay race: water jug carry, spoon and marble, frog hop,

Event 9: bullseye: Closest to target (If I can get a waterballoon launcher) can't use waterballoons though.  dodgeballs, stuffed animals?

Any other ideas?  quick easy and minimal set-up

Thank you.  I suck as a triathlete but I do seem to have an apptitude for picking up heavy things.  Now where are all those Clyds?

Kate- So I wont get in trouble for saying 295lb dead lift for a woman is pretty impressive?  The legs issue is not where Im impressed.  Its that I don't know very many women who have the grip strength to get anywhere near that number.

I don't know that I'd be much good at lifting, but I'm enjoying the bootcamp classes that I've been doing - seriously kickin' my butt!

Is your competition this weekend?

Yes it is.  Not too many women in the competition though.  It should be interesting.  I finally got my hands chalked up enough the other night to not lose my grip on the bar and finished the night with a max deadlift of 295, though, so hopefully Iwon't look foolish in the competition.

Wow!  Do you have any idea how freakin' IMPRESSIVE you are???

Thank you.  I suck as a triathlete but I do seem to have an apptitude for picking up heavy things.  Now where are all those Clyds?

Superclyde here...
