MrsUSMC - 2007-10-26 3:26 PM Husband ran on the beach by where he works this afternoon and said the air quality was good there. He's in a secured area so he's going to take me down there this afternoon (and this weekend) so I can run on the beach. He also purchased me a new HRM which arrived last night and I can't wait to play with it.

oooh!  a new HRM - way cool, I so want a new one!!

Glad to hear things are getting better there!

Hey kids!

First, super congratulations to Miss BunnyB for MAKIN' THE MILES!!! WOO HOO!

Sorry I've been so quiet lately (you all probably got some well-earned relief ) ... just dogawful busy. BUT I JUST HIT MY GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE TOO!!! So anything here on out is gravy for Terri.

Thanks to Gail's challenge, I also met a really nice boy. In real life. We had a SUPER date and the boy does NOT kiss like a thirsty basset hound. What is bizarre, though, is that I dated one of his friends three years ago ... and we didn't meet through him, so it is a really small world.

Heck yeah, get on their butts!!! I am off for a run this morning with some local BT'ers who I met up with last night for the infamous Halloween costume ride that got rained out, but we still did dinner (carbo loading for those running the MCM) and drinks. It was fun times. We kept LaurenSU02 up WAAAAAAAY past her bedtime And now we are off to run in the rain and eat pancakes afterwards!

Got another 5K done this morning in the rain. So all I need is 2.5 to finish my goal. Race went well and the best part is I won a $50.00 gift cert for the Wine Cellar as a door prize.   SOOOOO glad I stayed this time.

Our Air quality has gotten better since our valiant firemen have put out most of the fires , there is still one burning in remote castaic canyonland north of here ,
Where that puts me with the challenge is I Now need to run 25 before wednesday night . Wish me luck .
The good things are : the legs are fresh from all this sitting around & It will be good prep for the half mary next sunday .

I made it out this morning for 1.01 miles. The air looks clear (until you look into the horizon) but you can still smell smoke. I plan on going to the beach this afternoon with DH and put in some more miles.

We could always photoshop "must run more" on them! LOL

I'm just back from my 2nd run of the day. This time I put in 2.25 miles. That's the furthest I've gone, in f.o.r.e.v.e.r! Woohoo me! I have a total mileage for today of 3.26 miles.

It was absolutely beautiful down on the beach and the waves were loud enough that I could somewhat ignore my HRM It was so "China Beach" to be trotting along and have the helos flying at me and overhead.

Go, Terri, Go!

(Maybe, if you don't need all the "fire sale" miles, you could see if Paul could use them...)

Travis, I am so very sorry to hear about your uncle. My heartfelt thoughts and wishes are with him and your family.

Paul, do you need me/us to pick up some of your 25 miles? It seems like you are another fire casualty, so there would definitely be some justification in our picking up your miles (since Terri won't use all of our donated ones), and/or a goal readjustment for you.

OMG! This group is so supportive , I could not accept As I am determined to meet my goal . It will take me all 31 days in the month to do it and I am down to the last 15 and three days left , Thanks to everyone for all the inspires.
I did not run last week due to the fires and smoke so it was kind of a forced taper. With a great deal of stress . I Had a great club run this morning which almost felt like a race.
Plan of attack is short Monday . long tuesday and whatever is needed wednesday. Rest of the week off . I have a Race next weekend Santa Clarita Half Mary NOV 4th. Its the
Home stretch baby...
