kaqphin - 2007-12-08 7:20 PM So.... Im thinking of signing up as a BT mentor but Im not sure Im qualified to do it... I see Yanti is doing a group.. what about the other nibbins?
AHHH! I hadn't seen that they posted the new mentor program yet. Yanti's group is CLOSED already?

Yup - seems she has some fans! Im not sure anyone would want me as a mentor since I havent raced in so long

But, you DO have a lot of knowledge and experience. I think that (along with a positive attitude) will go a LONG way. My opinion? Do it. I think you're qualified. Hm, someone from N.Z. has a group. James G. But he lives in the US now. (I'm reading the groups.)

Are you gonna sign up for one?

Am reading the forum now to see just what's involved. Work is going to get a lot busier in January. It's going to cut into my BT time.....
Man, that sucks when work cuts into BT.
Yes. It does. You'd think employers would be more considerate, and make sure we have plenty of BT time. But noooooooooooooooooo.....

I think they should make it mandatory - you know, part of a wellness program!

Pam, you are right on track for Dec, so as far as I'm concerned - you earned your day of rest!

I'm going to be a mentee first and see what it's like - I may volunteer to be a mentor after that - not sure if I'm qualified though -

I did some wimpy stuff.

Thought about going swimming, but the shoulder was twinging. So I decided to give it a rest day..... This is highly unusual for me. Generally, I just go first, and think (or suffer) later.

I haven't checked the mentor forum lately. (Who has time? I need to stalk keep up with the Challenge threads.) Cat's post tonight was the first I knew that they've even opened up the new program.

How long does it take for "tendonitis" to get better anyway? (Seems to me that all injuries should heal after 3 days. Well, ok - 4 days for "bad" ones....)

enders_shadow - 2007-12-08 7:37 PM Nice bike ride this morning on Baby...she needs a check-up/tune-up but we still had a nice time...went early, so it wasn't HOT yet, but very pleasant. Spent most of the day procrastinating about packing and then a little time packing. Went to dinner with a co-worker who I will miss dearly when I go home. Exceeded my calorie limit today, but it was SOOOOOOO worth it. Crab cake app, hangar steak and pomme frites, and then gingerbread cake w/ eggnog icecream for dessert. OMG...everything was tasty except the crab cake, but that's just 'cause I'm spoiled. The dessert was DIVINE. Now I am back in my apartment, which looks all the more pathetic with everything packed up. On tap for tomorrow - 10 mile run (the dessert should count as carb loading then, no?) and a swim (yeah, Hector - I'm going to swim), and finish packing!

when do you actually leave for home?

MONDAY! Noon-thirty-ish? Probably closer to 1...my students finish their exams at noon, I have to get those, turn in my keys, go back to my apt & load up Baby, turn in my keys there, and I'm OUTIE (like a bellybutton).

Um. That's some quick grading. LOL

No no - I have to grade them at home. Wish it was that quick.

unfortunatley I think tendonitis can take weeks to heal

from what I've read, anywhere from 4 - 10 weeks (or longer)

I think that's Mila's wand. At least, it matches her tiara. It's not pink though.

My wand is a Little Debbie Swiss Cake Roll. I've been using it for awhile, so it's probably stale now. Therefore, the magical properties may be diminished.... Put it this way, I just waved it at my shoulder and nothing happened....

Although, I did use it the other day when Judi encountered a whiny guy, and it was quite effective. So it still has its uses.....

Sure. I've just zapped 'em.

BTW, if it didn't work.... well, the wand was faulty. Blame Mila. (Why Mila? Simple. She's not here right now. Hahaha. That should teach her to leave BT.)

unfortunatley I think tendonitis can take weeks to heal

from what I've read, anywhere from 4 - 10 weeks (or longer)

I'm still having problems with my hip and I injured it the first week of September. But I was a bad girl and still ran on it for two more weeks. During mile 4 of an oly tri, it let me know enough was enough. And here I am, second week in December, still unable to run. Be careful, Dee. Very, very careful.

Oooh - is your wand powerful enough to zap away my dessert calories?

Now that is some magic I could use! Did you enjoy your ride today?
