It was short. this was one of a handful of runs I have done since my knee surgery earlier this year. I made it to mile 1.5 before the pain and swelling started and then made it to mile 2.5 before I HAD to call someone to pick me up (about 1/2 mile before the end of my run) it hurt so bad I couldn't even walk. But I will try to run again maybe again today or tomorrow. I am thinking that it is just weak still. I will just go at a slower pace and with less hills. and maybe a shorter distance. That doesnt sound good - are oyu doing rehab too? Strength work and alignment etc to work up to running??? I hope it all comes together for you... way to stick at it! Rehab is over since May and I only run maybe 2 or 3 times since then. I was hoping to use this month as a springboard to get me back into running. I will try running on the dirt track by my house or maybe the treadmill. |

Actually she gave it to my 3 year old who gave it to me. Unless running to the bathroom every five minutes counts as one of my running goals, I will not be adding to my session count. From one dodgy knee to another I would suggest keeping up the strength and alignment stuff if you can... it might not be for 'rehab' but anything that helps support the knee and keeps it working well is probably a good thing... Once I gave up strength/rehab style work I started having problems again... I dont do as much as I was but definatley leg strength and stretching is going to have to stay as an every day thing! |
