In about 4 or 5 years, we'll have to introduce your oldest to mine--she's 13---he's about that age too, isn't he?

ABSOLUTELY we have to....im all about arranged marriages.

I've got a 6 year old daughter, how old are your boys?

wgraves7582 - 2009-10-29 8:58 AM Morning Kim and Kim

Recap on page 43 or 44 or 45 possibly

Kim - sorry about the patella.  Take it easy and rest it.  This is the advice I do not follow (Hello blue emoticon) Cool

Rest is just so darn hard!  I'm starting to worry I won't be able to run my half mary the end of November.   Very frustrating.  The disdain challenge will help because I really need to do more strength work. Stronger legs help keep the patella from getting off track.

oh no KIM>  not another one 'down'.  GHOULIES.  were fallin apart.  its all that running i tell ya.

rest IS hard, but oh so necessary (i know im not telling you something you dont know)

the ST is important for me as well for my hips, back, et al.

so im TOTALLY with you on that one.

hopefully the challenge will get you nice and strong, so that you can run that 1/2 Mary in NOVEMBER.

fingers crossed.

kcarroll - 2009-10-29 5:49 AM I swam this morning and hopped on the treadmill afterwards.  Not good.  Couldn't run at all.  Very frustrating.  I'm going to look up Dee's instructions for adjusting goal due to injury.  No point in penalizing the team because my patella refuses to stay on track.

Sorry your knee is acting up.  Hope it's better soon

You stick your hands down your pants to warm them up (warm your hands up)

THEN

You dump water on them to cool to cool them down

There was also a young woman who had one leg that finished.  Last year she didn't make the bike cutoff. I cried for her too.

I'm not really a big crier.  Usually just for animals, babies and old people.  Add special IM finishers to that list.

kcarroll - 2009-10-29 8:27 AM Alright, I've adjusted my goal.  Dee's formula would have put me at 45 miles, but I've already run 50 and just had two 5 milers this week that I'll miss.  So 50 it is.  Darn it.  That is not how I like getting to 100%.  I will do an extra session on knee PT this afternoon to pay penance.

Congrats on the 100%

depends on the outsider, but im SNOBBISH, VERY VERY SNOBBISH.

that Pittsburgh Triathlon Club welcome wagon gig....a total ruse.

i think it would be UBER FUN to continue on as a group...with as many as would like to continue on.

if the elliptical vs ST 'challenge' is what makes that happen, im totally diggin' it.

let the games begin.

yay.  that would be MY SIDE OF THE CHALLENGE.

but feel free, if you DISDAIN elliptical training even more than MR. W. GRAVES does to be on THAT side of the challenge [cough, cough, sputter, sputter, grunt]

choose wisely, my friend.

Well, there is no way I am getting on an elliptical so it looks like I'm on your side.  Plus I have been seriously neglecting my strength workouts so, yeah that needs some work.

NO SERIOUSLY.  ALL KIDDING ASIDE.

for those still working towards their GOALS.

RUN LIKE YOU MEAN IT.

IF YOU RUN EM POST EM.

RUN GHOULIE RUN!!!!

stacieb

To be honest this is the very first time I will ever hit 100% in a challenge if I remember correctly.

I always set my goal to a point where I am "Challenging" myself to obtain that goal.  Nothing out of this world like walking on the moon but where I have to push myself.

I wimped out this month and pulled sessions (this is directed to me only so if you do sessions I mean no offense at all because it is great to be training no matter how much!) because I really did not have a good feel for how far I could run easily and with pushing myself.

It worked out because of aqua jogging but I was thinking last night in the pool that I would have been stuck if I had picked miles because I am not going to do a 3 hour long run in the pool Cool

We have done great this month because a lot people have pushed themselves places they have not been before and to me that is what the challenge is all about.

So join us next month for the disdain challenge because when you learn to love that what you hate it only makes you that much stronger!

i know you and i like to poke fun and joke and all, but seriously all kidding aside.

WHAT YOU SAID BILL

IS GOLDEN!

We have done great this month because a lot people have pushed themselves places they have not been before and to me that is what the challenge is all about.

So join us next month for the disdain challenge because when you learn to love that what you hate it only makes you that much stronger!

what i LOVED is that there is SUCH a sense of comaraderie amongst, a real community.  i know i refer to it as a VILLAGE, but i get a real sense of CONNECTEDNESS when i come here.

i do most of my training alone.  which im fine with.  but to know that i could come back and 'report in' and let everyone how it went, how i felt, or what i accomplished.  THATS a GREAT feeling to have.

AND i think because there is such a STRONG sense of 'community' here, were able to SPUR EACH OTHER ON to bigger and better things.

i know relationships come and go...especially cyber ones, but i'd LOVE to see us ALL stick together and continue on at least another month (who knows how long...)

these sorts of happenings dont occur every day!

something  very unique, special has been 'created' here.

for whatever reason we've come together at this moment in time, to encourage, support, spur each other on in our journeys, not just w tri's but perhaps in other areas of of our lives.

i for one would be 'honored' to have EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU along for another leg of my journey.

oh hell, BILL you made me cry.

LOVE YA GHOULIES.
