Going to swing by the LRS and pick up a new pair of kicks to start in the rotation. Current pair have 300+ miles. Then going to knock off a few errands, like the bank and dry-cleaners. Lastly finish the week with Loser Swim at the Y. See ya later! Later Kim! Have a good night. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are STILL doing Ironman distances this month!!! What an outstanding day for The Race For Education!!! Not a cloud in the sky, a little cool this morning, 69 when we just got home. The school has raised over $48,000 so far and they are still counting. Our PTO really does a fantastic job. They buy reusable water bottles for all the kids in the school colors with the logo. They also purchase shirts for all the kids for track and field day, among all the other things they do. My son, who does everything at his pace, did 16 laps this morning. They didn't quite have an hour to run, but that's ok, he was pretty tired by the time he was done. The weather is getting nicer, he can get outside more and spend less time sitting in a chair playing video games. His goal was 16 laps, so he met his goal. My daughter originally had a goal of 10 laps, this morning she told me she was going 12. I told her it was a long way, but I thought she could do it. She hustled the entire time, she'd run, then walk a swift pace, on and off. She went 13 laps. Her first 5k. She asked if she could run the turkey trot with us next year. I told her ABSOLUTELY. My kids did great, they both tried hard. I am very proud of them! |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are STILL doing Ironman distances this month!!! kcarroll - 2010-04-23 1:19 PM Ann, did a quick search and found this 20 week training plan with long runs up to 26 miles. It also has options to modify if you only want to go 20 max. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to look around a bit more. Don't think I'm going to be getting away with only running 3x week like I did for the half. Yikes. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_4/130.shtml
I really like this plan Kim. I looked at a lot that only had you running up to 20 miles for your long run. Those 6 unknown miles are a lot IMHO. A friend of mine may sign up in a charity spot. She has always wanted to run a marathon, she did the HM with me in January. Her husband was a Marine. She said if she is going to do a full it would be the MCM. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are STILL doing Ironman distances this month!!! Good morning Ghoulies! Is it wrong that I paid my daughter $0.50 to make my toast and chocolate milk this morning? I think she may have done it for less, too. I was going to do a 40 mile bike ride to a friends house today. That plan has been scrapped because I feel like crap, and my hamstring is still a bit sore. So now the plan is to stay home and do a whole lot of nothing. I'll check back later. |

Since I was out, I went to Panera for a quick bite. Now Panera is not fine dining with soft background music, but it isn't McD's. May I share my opinion that it is F'ing RUDE to let your children run screaming back and forth among tables while you F'ing chat on your F'ing phone. There, I feel better. And my car is all shiny and clean. At least until the next wave of pollen gets dumped on it. As the mother of 2 I don't even find that behavior acceptable at McDonald's! Ditto. My kids know very well that they will NOT get away with that kind of bologna. Well, you are a Navy officer. I would expect no less. I was an Army brat. We would have been put in front of the proverbial firing squad if we misbehaved. That's funny. On Sunday my son said something snotty to his sister so I put him in the push up position and told him to stay there until I got tired. my hubby uses this with the kids...usually in the back yard doing "cherry picking" or front back go's! We send them to a kids bootcamp in the summer for a weekend where they have drills(hubby is one) It is a great time! They learn a lot about respect and teamwork...and also that mom and dad aren't as mean as they think we are! |

Ann, what are you thinking paying your daughter $0.50 to make your breakfast??? You should have told her that she had two choices: 1) Make mamma's toast or 2) find a new place to live. Seriously though, I hope the hammy's better soon. Do you have any stretches that have been helping at all? |
