Extreme Veteran 603 Glasgow, UK | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Just to call a halt to Ashley's reign on posting. Had an awesome 10 mile TT tonight, really put the new set up to the test, knocked just under 5 minutes off last years time and that's on top of a 14s improvement on the 5k run at the weekend, it's setting up to be a really good first race of the season this weekend even if the weather's supposed to be awful! |

Master 2094 | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up There is a local, well run sprint in Clemson this weekend. I didn't pre-register because I hadn't planned on doing it and I wanted to see how my foot felt. I ran Mon for the first time in a while and felt great. Tues I couldn't walk. I felt good enough to run again on Wed and Thurs but was afraid. I kinda decided not to do it but yesterday when I went to pick up one of my bikes from the bike shop they were doing registration. I thought it was God's will that I was supposed to register so I filled out the forms and tried to sign up. They didn't take credit cards so I wasn't able to register. God's will? I can register tonight at a different site between 3-7 but I have a long day in surgery today. Not sure if I will be out in time. Feel free to comment |

Master 2094 | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up I did the sprint today. Nothing special.MOP finish. My run was terrible as I was expecting considering how much running I have been doing lately. My swim time was 2 minutes slower than my best swim there 2 years ago. I had a swim video session at the local Y after the race. I will post links to the video once it is uploaded on U-tube. Time to focus on the run |

Elite 3495 SE | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Your run was not terrible. It was darn good considering your run training lately. We are all prettty proud of you for having a go! Now hoping Kate has a big day.who else has something? Rainy here so I will be down the dungeon for my longer ride. Probably will wrap it with a couple of 45 minute runs or so. TTT-Ohio is this weekend coming up. may need some of the mentors' positive vibes. |

Veteran 169 Falls Church VA | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Nice race weekend Peter and Kate. And Im excited to see how TTT goes for you Slayer (it may finally make my race list in 2013). Had a good training week last week, Ive changed up my running plan to more of the 1-2-3 method that we had talked about earlier. It seems to be working (wouldnt have ever tried this approach without this group, so thanks everyone), finally got above 30 miles for the week and have been feeling real good. Going to try to keep it up this week, and as long as the weather is good, going to try and ride the Eagleman course this coming weekend. Also got my wife a new bike this weekend, 2011 Speed Concept 7.0. Got a pretty good deal on it since it was last years model, and shes pretty pumped up about it. Might be a little close for her to use it at Eagleman, but I know shes going to want to try. |

Veteran 222 | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Sounds like some good races/training this weeekend. For me, started back up on Friday evening with the training after 2weeks laid up with a bad cold and then cough. On Friday evening a 6K run (coughed half a lung), but finished. Saturday morning 1.5Hr ride and again hacked a little, but good to get outside on the bike. Yesterday did a 10K race (Sporting Life) in 56:09, so not too bad considering the lungs are on at full capacity yet. Was supposed to be back in the pool this morning, but hacked too much, so will plan on it tomorrow. Boy, it's good to get out a nd active again. |

Weather has been pretty good up here, but were all getting ready for the worst. Starting our weekend workouts later in the day. I guess the one benefit of moving up into the 30-34AG is the earlier start time. The weather is looking promising for this weekend, so we should be able to get in a practice ride of the bike course, and Im hoping to get in a decent run afterwards. Ill share the recon about the conditions. |

I have a century on Saturday. Hoping for around 6 hours. It's super hilly with some major climbs, so we'll see. Following that up with a long run of about 15 on Sunday. Feeling great about the run and bike. Of course, still being bad about swimming, but that's to be expected. Just found out the swim cutoff is close to 3 hours...so I guess I should be okay! Hahahahha |

Veteran 169 Falls Church VA | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up nerdjock - 2012-05-17 6:17 PM Vibrating: How do you like the 1-2-3 plan? It seems to be getting the job done. Running 5-6 times a week seems to keep my legs from tightening up too much (Im also using the stick and foam roller like a champ). By spreading the runs across that many sessions, Ive been able to ramp up my weekly mileage pretty quickly. In the past, I would have called some of the "1" runs garbage miles, but really, its allowing me to be more confident in my knee. After Eagleman and as I get closer to 100%, Ill probably start to push the "2" workouts longer at the expense of some of the "1" sessions, but the 1-2-3 plan has been great for getting me back on track after this injury. |

Elite 3495 SE | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Hope all of your racing and training weekends went well. I'd love to hear updates from y'all! from my ga forum post: Dare I say that I had a great race in grueling hot conditions and hilly courses? I may not have placed overall and there were no age groups but I was damn glad to be one of the best runners at the half after all that beat down beforehand. My 130 cals per race via Ucan generation held up again! Haven't seen any results and it doesn't really matter. I know I slayed it all on the line! My body and soul tells me so. Knee held up. Cheated with some BK and Applebees on the way home but that's allowable. Once I get caught up with life, I will get caught up with everyone's performances and jot a few race notes/update the logs. Thanks for the support everyone! |

Extreme Veteran 849 San Diego | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Nice job out there, Slayer! I had a good weekend: 105 mile ride on Saturday (finished over 20 minutes faster than last year on the same course on a much harder windy day with an extra 2 miles) and a 12 mile run on Sunday. Feeling pretty good. I even downloaded an audiobook in my everlasting quest to make swimming less boring. Fingers crossed. |

Elite 3495 SE | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Nice to see some of us still checking in and thanks for the props you guys. That was insane looking back. Throwing the 10 hours of driving in on Friday before the supersprint and Sunday right after the 70.3 only served to make it more painful and memorable. Yesterday was a wash and today I'm still walking around on peg legs. Probably do nothing much today other than a light spin if anything.Tomorrow swim lesson and swim on my own. Well done to Vibratingp00 and Ashley on some stellar training. Rich is back at it. Gladiator over the flu bug? Eagleman getting closer. Our boyz are going to rock it! IMUK not too far in the offing. What else are we looking at from the group members? Give us some dates and updates when you get time. |

Veteran 169 Falls Church VA | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Nice racing Slayer. Drive home had to be miserable. And nice training Ashley, those are some big numbers for the weekend. The wife and I had a good weekend getting ready for Eagleman. Bike course on Saturday starting around noon was fast and windy but not as hot as I thought it was going to be. Going to get in a big gear and pound away for the race. Short brick run after wasnt too miserable either as far as temperature, the wind kept things tolerable. OWS on Sunday has me confident in the water and sighting, so Im getting amped up and into a good place mentally. Hope everyone has a good week. |

Veteran 222 | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Sounds like Slayer has another great race. Well done! Ashley, another good weekend fo training for you too! I got back into the training after cold and cough over the last few weeks. 115K on the bike on Saturday and 11K run on Monday (day off here in Ontario). The 115K felt great, not bad since I hadn't done anything more than 50K over the winter and last week only a 35K ride. So jumping in at the deep end feels good. Swim has suffered due to the cough, but back at it tomorrow morning. And hoping to be in the OW soon, still too cold out there. |

Extreme Veteran 465 Atlanta, GA | Subject: RE: THE SLAYER RULES-FULL Up Slayer, Great job up there at TTT. I heard you crushed it and I expected nothing less. I'm on my last big push to Eagleman. I got in 3:30 on the bike last Saturday followed by a short run, then a 12 miler on Sunday. I have a big Memorial Day weekend of training planned. An OWS on Saturday. Planning on about 2 miles, then 4 hours on the bike in the Mountains, a long run on Sunday, then another 4 hours on the bike on Monday. |
