Mom mom had to read that her sister died in the news paper.

Another of my aunts was married to a SOB. He abused her. I saw him do it once, I never talked to him again. She eventually left him. My cousin, daughter of the deceased, let him know apparently, she still kept in touch with him, but didn't let any actual family know.

There were rifts in the family before, this may be enough to cause total separation for some.

The whole situation is totally messed up.

I bet you are not taking off on Wednesday to go to the funereal, eh? Though.... you could stretch the truth and take off and go kayaking instead. You could think of your Aunt and how you don't want to be like here and it would kinda be like a memorial service!

I am usually done working around 1:00, I keep thinking I need to drive the truck some day and bring a kayak along. 2 of the lakes I go to are practically on my way home.

I am going to attempt to get my "training face" back on this week and see if there is any possibility of me actually doing the Olympic tri I am supposed to do in a little under 3 weeks. My training had been going pretty good until the last week of August.

I agree.  There needs to be some major talking and with a counselor at this point.  Someone that can hold him responsible for his words and actions. 

I got a trainer ride and a teeny tiny run in. It didn't kill me but I got a LONG way to go in 3 weeks.

Robin--I'm glad you are doing better! Rest rest and fluids. And margaritas and wine don't count. *insert evil Nurse Ratchet giggle here*

Thanks everyone for the advice. We had a good talk this morning, he admitted he was being a horse's behind, super selfish lately (his words, not mine), etc etc etc. We've done some counseling in the past, and it has helped. The roadblock to getting more counseling is his schedule. He never knows for sure when he'll be in town until a day or so ahead of time. For example, he left today for a business trip. He THINKS he'll be home Friday-ish. But it could end up being Thursday, or it might be closer to Friday of NEXT week. He has several medical re-checks he hasn't gone to in the past 6 months becuase of the problem with scheduling. That's also why he's not very in-tune with what's going on with The Boy's schooling and what interventions we've got in place to help him. Oy vay. So, we shall see what his demeanor is like when he gets back into town. Counseling may very well be on the schedule in the very near future.

It is RAINING here. Two days straight. The river is up and I bet we get flooding today. Fun and games. Our house is okay, but the sirens and flood horns are kinda nerve wracking as is the sound of giant car size boulders moving in the river.

Good for you Amy! It is going to be up to make him stick to not being a horse's behind.

Oh, and wine and margaritas ALWAYS count! Just not for hydration!

sorry, I told it to go away, It must have gotten pissy. It is STILL raining here. We have had 2 inches since Midnight.

Lots of rain here.  Tornado warning yesterday until 2am this morning.  Hope it sticks to just rain today and no warnings.

Long day at work today.  My day started at a 7:15 United Way breakfast, then a meeting, now at the branch and will be here until 6pm because two staff have called in sick.  One I knew yesterday that they would, the other was a surprise.
