Then I looked-up Boys II Men on youtube. They were darn good. Still are... Hell yeah they were all good. Boyz II Men, ABC, BBV, the East Coast family. |

Thursday is their heavy training day .. and they night fly too. I happened to be near the base one night and saw them take off .. the soooooo SO loud and the white hot flame coming out the engine .. does that help you identify the plane. HA! (I know nothing of the planes) It does. Probably F16s. The A10s look like a pig. Their engines are pretty large but aren't as high-powered as the F16s that are basically an engine and a computer with a plane built around it. A10s are a giant gun with a plane built around it. Back when I was a kid, we used to be on DM every other month for a week getting supplies from the comissary (we lived in Hermosillo area). The A10s were there then. Slow-moving. But awesome. |

But awesome. for going fast, yes. for shooting down other planes, yes. For blowing stuff up, no. A10s fly about 50 mph 50 feet off the ground and that GAU blows the living heck out of everything. They also carry their weight in munitions. F16s can't carry as much because they don't have enough space on the wings. They're both good planes, just different purposes. |

This is what I think I saw. First it was at the Tucson international airport. The National Guard base I believes shares the runways or "airplane" related ground. So it was probably the Guard and it was at the end of May of this year. So it could have been F-16s. I want to find out if that is every Thurs or not .. I'd love to go set up my camera .. would be some great shots when they take off.
Be careful going out and taking pictures of military planes! I would wear a turbin or anything like that while doing it! |

I could see everything very very up close and personal from right there! I might wear a turban just to keep my head warm though!!! Yes....becuase someone sitting in their car taking pics is NOT suspicious at all. But....it's in public and as we know.....they shouldn't be able to do anything to you unless they have a warrent. |
