Spokes, tag, you're it ... time to also inspire the boys!

Woo hoo! Perfect timing to get in a post. Thanks for the "inspiration" as always, Yanti.

Travis - Sorry to hear about your uncle!

I got in a total of 3 miles over the course of the weekend. I've met my goal already, so that puts me 3.3 miles to the good that can be used for fire miles for whomever needs them. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be swim days, but I should get in another couple of miles on Tuesday that can be used, too.

Don't forget, folks, that the challenge ends on WEDNESDAY, the 31st. We don't have another full week.

I do agree that Van Paulus was another fire casualty, so if we have extra miles, we can put them towards him. I'll double check with Cat (Cat, is that cool?), but that should be okay. He definitely had several days of "it's too smokey to go outside" in his log.

Hey folks - I just posted our Week 4 results over on the Leaders' Thread - go check it out. We are doing AWESOME! 4 of us have already met our goals; 3 of those were overages too! Terri and Van Paulus have definitely rallied to try to catch up, but overages will be pledged towards their goals and once they have been met, any extra miles will be discarded. Good job everyone - 3 more days left! I am running after work, probably 4-5 miles. Last run planned for Wednesday morning. That night, it's off to a Halloween party, where I will be seeing Tri-Hottie who I had an AWESOME conversation with last night at church!!! We talked for a really long time about training and racing, and goals, etc (he had just run the Marine Corps that morning and said he would convince me to do it next year), and it was somewhat flirtatious

Thanks, dude! I'm really impressed by how my team has pulled this off, even the folks who couldn't run outside due to the fires

OMG! This group is so supportive , I could not accept As I am determined to meet my goal . It will take me all 31 days in the month to do it and I am down to the last 15 and three days left , Thanks to everyone for all the inspires. I did not run last week due to the fires and smoke so it was kind of a forced taper. With a great deal of stress . I Had a great club run this morning which almost felt like a race. Plan of attack is short Monday . long tuesday and whatever is needed wednesday. Rest of the week off . I have a Race next weekend Santa Clarita Half Mary NOV 4th. Its the Home stretch baby...

Go, Paul, Go! You rock, finishing all your miles despite the smoke! Be careful and really nail that race!

Dear Fearless Team Leader
Perhaps my earlier post and replies were not clear : It would be very unhappy for you to do what you mention in this post. I would not be Okay with it . It will do me no good to have someone else run my mileage . Yes we had fires and smoke last week but i am only a few miles
away and there are still 3 days in the month. Have Faith .

No problem - we would love it if you were able to knock out the mileage, but due to a natural disaster, there was agreement that you should not be penalized if you were not able to make up the miles. And since Terri wasn't the only one affected by the fires, I didn't think it would be fair not to give you the option.

hey, I missed our chatter.  Glad to see everyone is either done or really close to one wiith their goals.  I know my back, knees and feet will appreciate my "no stress" goal for flexibility and strength training next month--gotta save up to kick some butt on the Dec. swim challenge (my coach will have fun setting those goals and making me keep 'em too)

Okay, I had to go back and look at those legs, and then I completely forgot what I was going to say.

Oh yeah. I got in 1.59 miles tonight. I really wanted to keep going because I felt good, but I ran out of juice. I had a myoplex and an apple around 3 but it just didn't last.

I really wish I could have last week back because I feel like I'm finally getting in a groove. I've switched over to running with a HRM and I like it so much better than timed run/walk intervals.

Bonus points for Ross for his race report, where he describes sprinting over the finish line as FUN!

Penalty points for those of you who are still calling yourself "not a runner," though (you know who you are...I've seen y'all lurking in other threads...)!  Everyone here has done a great job!

Morning, all. Hope everyone is ready to finish up on Wednesday! I have my last run for the challenge planned for that morning - will do about 4 miles, which will put me at my new goal which includes the 3 extra I pledged for Terri. I've already hit my initial goal of 50!
