I just had another fabulous cookie, my second of the day. Yum. It's a good thing I'm leaving Wisconsin!

triniki - 2008-09-08 10:55 PM Is it okay that my race was Sunday and I posted today? This is the first chance I've had at sitting a computer....

It's fine.  The most important day is Saturday.  We want to make sure we have the spreadsheet updated then so that it counts for the week's updates.  During the week, it's less of a big deal.

I guess my other option is to drop swimming from the training until next spring...

Have you looked into resitance swimming bands?

http://www.activeforever.com/p-2312-aquavee-portable-swim-system-kit.aspx

I've never tried them, but wondered if it would be an option...

I recall someone asking about dry swimming as they were off to submarine duty.  Seems more hellish than a bike trainer.

This gadget... dunno.  I hope to tour the $145/m club on Wednesday.  It also has free wi-fi so I can post pad while my child is watched

Boo! I hope you feel better soon. Triathletes shouldn't be allowed to be sick, it's not fair. There is nothing worse!

I think of things that start with a letter of the alphabet for the lap. Each lap starts with a new letter of the alphabet in order.

Lap 1 = "A": alphabets, apples, aardvark...

Lap 2 = "B": beta, bluebell, bluegill, ..

Oh, I like this.  The alphabet, so much more interesting than chanting the numbers ... if only I don't get lead astray rearranging the letter for a better scrabble score.

I remember a thread in Triathlon Talk about pools and some people were using a tether on the ladder for short pools. I'm sure it's not as exciting (kind of like the dreadmill), but likely better than swimming in tiny laps.
