English players are over priced..and "under" talented....
Arsenal will sign an unknown french defender and a young but talented winger...and still finish 4th
Liverpool needs to sign more depth...
Fulham getting Jol is a great move....Mark Hughes has an inflated opinion of his managerial capabilities

The Champions league final showed the benefits to bringing up youth players and the gulf between the top tier in the Spanish league and the EPL...

Internationals.....USA still needs a striker and is struggling in defense....England are now definitely second tier ( and have been for 20 years quite honestly)...they should be happy with just qualifying and not expect to win every Euro or WC tournament

I saw that.  I couldn't agree more.  Talk about making a move that could potentially help them not only stay up, but start to really compete at a higher level.  I feel a bit for Dempsey potentially having to prove himself, yet again.  Hopefully he is past that.  Only time will tell.

Agreed that 'Pool needs to build depth.  Carra is gone in a year or so and that will leave a GAPING hole in our backfield.

Didn't get to watch the USMNT v Canada match last night, but from all the reviews, it is a good thing we were playing Canada.  If it were anyone else, it sounds as if we would have lost.  Howard made some saves that were unreal, from what I've read, and any other team would have probably disected our backfield even worse.  Funny how in the past, our Defense was our strength and now it is quickly becoming our weakness, along with a missing solid striker (Aguadelo had a horrible game last night, from what I read).

Finally, about transfers, maybe it won't be as quiet this summer as I thought.

SNERK!  I get you.

Now, that being said, I do want a striker that believes he is good. But it would be nice if their skill matched their ego.

I've seen some spoof pics of him with hair.  One was a mullet.  I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

BTW, looks like El Tri might be having some doping issues?

yea. five guys positive with clenbuterol. same as this contador. they are still investigating and are coming out with the same bad excuses of eating bad meat and stuff. I think they should investigate the doctor. he has been involved in doping cases before...

AAAAAAAAAaaaaaand once again, the US fail to show up.  Good god what a pathetic display.  Yes, Panama is good, but not THAT good.

We looked horrible.  Absolutely horrible.  Except for the last 15-20 minutes.  But by then, it was too little too late.  I'm getting sick and tired of this come from behind crap.

ETA: which is better?  That they win the Gold Cup so they can get into the Confederations Cup and go against higher quality teams before the next WC, or NOT get in, so that they actually have to WORK to make it into the WC and finally figure out what the hell they are doing wrong instead of coasting through qualifications.

Didnt even see that score.....I say invade Panama as retribution....I'm sorry to pile on but I was thoroughly unimpressed against Canada and and Spain even though it was a weaker team.
Tough times ahead...and btw...its NOT Bob Bradley's fault..

The Women may be in for a surprise too in the upcoming WC...saw them in a couple of games lately and not close to the Hamm/Lilly days etc

I'd be willing to wager the US, as a whole, is in line for a dip in performance for a while (1-3 years?).

As to your comment about BB, I think it still goes back to those development articles we talked about last year (?) or the year before.  He can only work with what he has, and that, frankly, is limited.

BB has been a good coach overall for the national team but i think a change is necessary.  He certainly has limited talent to work with but at the same time i don't think he is the best at squeezing the most talent possible out of his players.

I think the deep in performance will be far longer than 1-3 years, unless there is a prodigy capable of carrying them team that is on the pipeline.  It certainly is a shame that Giuseppe Rossi never accepted the inviation to play for the US.

So I missed the USMNT match but it sounds like it was an interesting weekend. We won against a hot Jamaica team and Mexico had to come back to win it and move on.

I saw some...fairly uninspiring...The U17 World Cup is on ESPN U and ESPN 360...some interesting match ups and countries playing....US is in it...some good youngsters.

Also went to the Rapids game on Saturday...what's with the spray can of white paint the ref carries to get the wall or players back 10 yards...its hilarious...he painted a line so that the players could not advance etc.....is this common or just his habit? ....by the way...he was abysmal...

England U21 got bounced from the Euro Champs by the Czech's....hopefully that's Psycho's last game as their coach...

The U17 cup is here in Mexico and Monterrey is hosting some good matches. sadly I will be out of town for them...

The spray of white paint has been used here in the mexican apertura for a couple of years now.

It looked funny at first but I think its a good way to keep players from moving forward, and things fair. (they even have some paint company sponsor now)

As for the Mexican doping its all a dirty rotten thing. They got the same lawyer from the contador case to work for them...

Whats really interesting in the U17 games and even some MLS...is the dead bounce on the pitches...maybe they have a sand base but the ball just dies when its played in the air and lands...it makes through balls easier and control....just an observation...but never mentioned by the commentators....

You clearly haven't watched a Seattle match lately.  The thing bounces like a super ball.  Cool

SNERK!

I'm really wondering if there is anything that can be done to change it?

A new organization to compete?

Boycott by fans?  Countries?

Who could, in reality, investigate them sufficiently to weed out what is going on?

We deserve better.
