Artemis - 2009-04-08 10:23 AM I signed up to be a mentor. Hopefully people actually want to join my group.

Not if you still are having those pains.

Meanie butt

See, Jen agreed with me. LOL

Mostly because I'm tired of everyone writing the pain off. I've had it on and off for the past year. Last year, I had a whole battery of tests including ultrasound, colonoscopy, endoscopy, HIDA scan, etc. and they found nothing. Now it's back. Been on acid blockers 6 weeks, which worked before, but not anymore. I'm so sick of this.

I am so very, very sorry about this. I posted that In TAN, too, but wasn't sure if you saw it.

I'm glad, though, that you are doing a mentor group ... it's weird, but reaching your hand out does help to take the mind off the pain a bit ... you are one of those wonderful people who know that.

I did.  Didn't post because I was kind of upset.  Went through the same thing last year and I couldn't deal with it and snapped at lots of people.

Thanks for what you said.

geauxtri - 2009-04-08 11:10 AM Mornin' Nibbs...
No brick this morning
Just a little time on the trainer....

Don't think I'll ever do a him... much less NOLA next year... I just don't have the push to stay on the trainer that long...

Well... I've got 20 min to shower, dress, and get out the door...

HAPPY HUMPDAY!!!!

You need to pick one of the later ones. I'm thinking about Augusta next year because it's at the end of September and I'd get to train all summer.

I've toyed with Augusta too. It's only 2 hours down the road from me. But I don't know if I'll be ready next year for a HIM

You should!!  Or if you don't want to and I do, come down and visit.

If I can really improve on my running big time and keep the foot from acting up I just might do the race.  I've lost 35 pounds so far, and I know that my training has improved because of it.  I want to lose another 40-45 lbs, and then I'll be so happy that I should be able to fly.  LOL

35 lbs??? You are DA BOMB! (Well, a very little bomb!) Congratulations! And I'm sure you are already flying with that much less weight ... I still have about 20 to go myself, why is it so much easier to lose nearly 100 lbs than to lose that last dangit 20 stubborn pounds!!!

I hear you loud and clear.  I've got 75 that I'm trying to lose, but I would like it to be more like 90.  So, I'll actually be trilled (for a while at least) when it is only 20 to go.  You are awesome yourself, by the way.

LOL.  I wish I knew.  I've lost about 20, but have 20 - 25 more to go.  It's hard!!

Hang in there Jen.  Someday we'll all be happy with our weights.  Or so I keep telling myself.

Sounds like we need a Nibbs weight loss support group... Ive lost about 26 pounds so far but havent really lost any since my race in January although my body shape has changed.

I would like to loose about the same about again for starters... then I would still be about another 20 poinds away from my ideal weight!

That's not a bad idea.  Maybe we should do a Nibbs weight loss "challenge" but have it be more of a support group.

Sounds good.. I know I need some help.. Ive got lazy with my eating again...

I really like what "Team Skinny" seems to have evolved into in the weightloss forum... an ongoing support group rather than a challenge.

I dont think weightloss is something you can neccesarily base your success on dates and numbers alone... it needs to be more holistic than that. Especially since for so many people weightloss is a very mental experience... more so than just the what yuo put in your mouth thing...

It also causes problems when lots of us have medical problems.  If something comes up, weight can fluctuate a lot.  That's what frustrates me about the weight loss challenges.

Ive tried teh weightloss challenges in the past but they do NOT work for me.

But I often run out of food ideas and Im a lazy cook (unless its chrissie or some other major social occassion then I pull out all the stops)

Plus, like you, the medical thing. Its not always best for me to be restricting calories etc - especially if Im having absorption issues... and thats before you throw medication etc in the mix

I have to admit -- I've gained weight. I actually weighed less last year -- despite eating so much junk food. This year, I'm not eating junk, but my weight is going up.

You are???? When did this start again?

8 weeks ago?  I went to urgent care one night and they told me to start acid blockers.  My doctor said to give them at least 4 weeks.  Pain has been bad for about 2 weeks even on the acid blockers.  I'm going back in tomorrow.

I was trying to put it off until after my exams and my cousin's wedding the week after.  Looks like it's not going to cooperate with me.

kaqphin - 2009-04-08 7:12 PM Sounds like we need a Nibbs weight loss support group... Ive lost about 26 pounds so far but havent really lost any since my race in January although my body shape has changed.

I would like to loose about the same about again for starters... then I would still be about another 20 poinds away from my ideal weight!

Would we need to be nice to one another?

Motivational and supportive... sometimes motivation would involve tasers Im sure...
