I was actually smiling bc i knew i was doing the "smart" thing. Year ago Dylan would have run...and maybe thats why year ago dylan was frequently injured/sick.

Must be what all the vets do when newbies like myself train through an injury and post about training with an injury and they're all smart and backing off.  Nice job Dylan!

I'm going to go run with the wife tonight (probably just a 5k). Friday I would like to get an early ride in if I have to work late (24 miles). Saturday I have an OWS at a local lake that I'll probably do about 2000 yds or so (45-50 min). I hope to finish out the week strong. I have a sprint next weekend so I want to get some good stuff in by early in the week.

Dr said I tore my obliques!  Man, I said I wanted shredded abs, but this isn't quite what I meant. Wink  So, that's actually good news. Smile He said it could have been a much worse situation being a 20-something female where the pain is. Frown

Even better... doc is into duathlons!  He said he knew I wouldn't behave by just lying around until I healed up, so he said continue to do aerobic activity that doesn't aggravate it and take pain meds as needed. Woot woot!

So, I took today off and I'll just take it easy.  Guess I gotta scrap the stretching that I was doing for my hip flexors because he thinks that's where the trouble started from.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts today!

It's the Tempe International. They expect about 1500 people in both the sprint and Oly.

High end vs low end wetsuit?

I have the entry level 2XU wetsuit...and am unsure if the benefits of upgrading are worth the cost? Anyone with previous experience?

During my limited experience with wetsuit shopping a couple of years ago what I found was that the more expensive suits were more comfortable and the neck area was cut lower and therefore felt better.

I knew there was a reason I liked you. Actually, have never had a high end suit on so I don't know about the fit of those. I do lke my Xterra though. It is comfortable, warm, buoyant and I do swim faster in it. I was lucky and got it before they raised the price.

2008 Zoot Fuzion, maybe I can have BryanCD autograph it so it'll be worth more (or the stripper might put it in his bag at T1....maybe not a good idea).

Ouch! I'm glad it wasn't more serious but... still kinda annoying. Hope it's not too uncomfortable to keep up with the workouts. I tore a bit of my calf when I first started running. Not fun!

My new suit is a zoot fuzion (2009) I did a semi-foolish thing and bought one down a size hoping I'm going to lose the weight I plan on. I'm debating if I should just put faith in myself or exchange for the XL. What do you guys think? I'm currently 25lbs more then the top range of the LargeShort. I was able to put the suit on and zipper it so it might be OK.

It's also a long sleeve which I've never used.

My old one is a sleeveless blueseventy which is likely going to be too big to wear.

GRB1 - Planning on getting in one longer ride (50-60) this weekend as well.

Sounds like a great ride!! Do you do these long rides solo or with groups?

Long rides are generally solo, good for getting mentally ready for the IM.

Glad to hear it is not to serious.  Take it easy and don't push yourself to hard in the near term.
