Been off the grid for a few days-first congrats to pbrown on your tri! Also on the breathing for swimming, I breath about every third stroke on the right, but I do work on breathing on my left during my laps. I will do a complete lap breathing on the left.  I do have a quaetion. I need a new swim suit and do not fit into the skinning mini raciong suits. I have tried on-line, but it is hard to find a good suit that is not made for a petite little 20 year old. ANy good web sites that deal with a good lap swim suit for a little larger women? I am not fat, but certainly and not small either

ok....Am I the only one who never feels like working out. I'm good once I start but, always very tired before or do you think it may be my diet?

no you are not alone. I certainly have many times I have no motivation. There are days I plan on doing big miles and just can't seem to find the energy to do more than the minimun. I'd sure like some answers as well. That is why I was MIA on my logs for three days

did a workout from the Spinnervals 23.0 DVD tonight (the one that works on technique)...WOW! 1-legged drills are TOUGH!

Those DVD's rock, though. It's great how quickly time goes by while doing them.

Good morning everyone.  9 degrees here.  Heading to the gym this morning for a recovery run and then swimming this afternoon.

Motivation is tough, especially in the winter (no matter where you live).  I find its not so much the cold but the lack of light.  Its tough getting out of bed when its super dark outside.

I HATE working out: remember what Jack Lalane said: "I hate exercising, but I like the results".  David Goggins, a top ultra marathoner says: "I hate running".  its like taking out the garbage, it must be done or things start getting nasty.

I did one-legged drills for the first time this past Sunday.  They killed my legs!  I was sore the next day.  Really sore.  Great thing was that I think it made me a little faster!

I love Spinnervals, too.

I have no problem getting motivated to run right now, loving it.  Doing OK on the bike, but my work hours have completely killed swimming!!!

This is why the treadmill is my best friend right now . . . and thank goodness my best friend is still under warranty, getting net computer board, belt and deck in next 2 weeks.  Caught it in time, warranty up in April!!!!

Hopefully my training doesn't take too big of a drop this week. Valentine's weekend is pretty busy in the restaurant biz...AND we've got the VP coming to town Tuesday, so it's a full-press dog and pony show (I hate that crap).

I totally forget about Valentines "weekend" -- I'm not sure how a one day Hallmark holiday now spans 4.

yeah, it's a barrel of laughs. Nothing but amateurs all weekend. Off today, though, then work 6 straight for another 1 day off

Work has blocked BT as a sports and recreation site.     Thoroughly frozen here.  Couldn't bring myself to get out in mid 20s temps and run this morning.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit warmer.

My youngest daughter's 2nd bday party is Saturday so as I work from home today I am baking cupcakes and cookies, a regular Mr. Mom.

Oh forgot to mention I'm working on a custom tri top/bottom set that's "sponsored" by the fitness forum I mod on.  I'll post up proofs when I get something finalized.

The temp is finally heading in the right direction and no wind. I hope to get out for a real run today. Got 45 on the trainer for the bike. Tomorrow I hope to head to the mountains for a few hours of c-country skiing.
With the winter sports season winding down and all my teams on the road I can find time to do my real job and that is to paint. Hours of standing at the easel are a pure joy

Kelly that's so helpful for me to see that! Thanks a million for sharing that video. To be able to hear it explained with the visuals at the same time is great.

Just no making fun of my messed up stroke.

It really helped me to see it as well -- I could put together what I was actually supposed to be doing.

Will have to watch vid when I get home. Went for a nice run in the brisk morning air. Knee felt good for 4 or so miles and then I became aware of the injury. Nothing debilitating though. Will extend out the distance next week and see if there is any chance to go at the half mary on the 27th.Temps are supposed to warm up here starting Monday so more pool time. Yay.

I got to run on the anti-gravity treadmill at PT.  Pretty cool!  I learned a lot about the way I run, too.  They referred me to a program called Run Right at the Cleveland Clinic.  I am going to look into it!
