I was worried about you and your fam this morning when I heard an earthquake report from Jakarta! Turns out, it happened in the Philippines, the reporter was just stationed in Jakarta. Phew. 

Yay! The marks of glory and adventure ...

And thanks for thinking of me. Actually we do have some good shakers here (Indonesia has more earthquakes than any other country, several a day here in Bali although I only feel one once a week or so, and only enough to topple anything once every few months).

Well I for one feel the need for some playtime but I have this whole work thing I have to do first.  Oh and then there is class tonight, then crew practice.  Oh and after that is studying for exams.  So much for playtime....

Hey Kate, life remains peaceful.  Took my boys (sons) to Dave and Busters this weekend, never been there before and whoa.....this week I am the best mom ever!

I am a strong believer in the "pay it forward" philosophy and I had a cool experience this weekend where I got to show my kids first hand why I do it.  So I took my kids miniature golfing and they ran out of adult clubs so I just got my kids stuff and I just watched. A couple was behind us waiting for my kids to finish the hole so I told my kids to wait so we could let the couple play though so that way we could mess around more without having to have them wait for us. Two holes later the couple decided to leave so the guy gave me his club and both balls (no that is not a euphemism) so I was able to play with my kids for the next 8 holes. On hole 12 the two young kids in their teens that were on a date (guessing) when their ball's got stuck in one of the tubes and the boy looked upset so I gave them the who balls I received for free earlier. When my girl asked why I helped them out because now I couldn't play. I told her that when I helped out the first couple they were nice and gave me the chance to play for free. When the two kids who paid lost the chance to have fun I passed along the kindness to them in hopes they will do some kind of kindness for someone else and if everyone did this then the whole world would be a better place. Now this is something I have told them in the past but with my girl able to actually see the interactions and the results it was able to click for her and now she understands the concept behind paying it forward so that is priceless.

I was thinking perhaps something else to divert my mind from the knee.
