How stupid am I.  I don't even know what that is even though I hear everyone reference it all the time.

I'm ashamed.  I cheated today...

The office went to check out our new space (apparently, we are going to move - which was new to all of us this morning) and then we went out to lunch to a pizza buffet.  Sigh - missed my swim workout AGAIN.

I was good and loaded up on salad first, but had to indulge in a couple slices of pie and some desert pizza they had.  I just couldn't resist.  And when I started?  It was hard to stop.

Like Frank the Tank....but with carbs?

jford2309 - 2012-08-31 3:59 PM There needs to be a TAN Shades of Grey writing contest!  Surprised

What would this contest entail?

well, you would need a judge and have people submit their "works", probaly need to cap it at 4 or 5 paragraphs, casue no one watches it for the story wants to read a whole lot of stuff. Maybe have a scenario already setup and see who has the best imagination.

Prize would be bragging rights!

Interested?

I think that the top 3 winners of the contest must also turn said story line into a screenplay and then shoot a video of it.....so we can get an overall winner.

I'll judge the video portion.

Teejaay - 2012-08-31 1:59 PM I liked (read these many YEARS ago and they are still in my nightstand) The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy .. by Anne Rice orginally written under her "other" name. A. N. Roquelaure.

It is pretty intense ... not "mommy porn" like 50 Shades of Grey.

Looked it up on iBooks. One reviewer states "I'm all for the First Amendment and all but this book needs banned."  Sounds like it is interesting for sure!

Penthouse letters are different. They're not fiction.

I entered a couple of contests that were to write letter to the Penthouse Forum.  That was pretty fun. We could do that .. then we can make it extra cheesy.

And Jim ... I every Paleo book I have suggests you follow a "ease into it" plan.  Like the first week make sure ONE of your meals is paleo.  Then the second week you have cheat days.  And so on.  So don't beat yourself up. Even my friends that eat this way give themselves a cheat meal once a week unless they are going super strict.

I'm not worried.  I was really good all week.  But I have a 4hr ride tomorrow so I see it as "fueling up"!  And I'm still not over my day's calories with a run tonight.

I think it's SO funny how people exagerate to make their case (yeah, I do it too).  But people keep saying in the shooting case "the guy was pinned/traped/strapped in the car".

Really?  Have you EVER felt pinned in by a seatbelt (unless it's 5 point harness)?  I seem to recall that I can move all around since it's spring loaded and only locks if movments are rapid.  I can forward and back.  Even if it locked up I can lean over the right into the passenger seat and away from my door/window.  OR, god forbid, unclick the seatbelt! If I have the ability to unholster a gun, I think I could unclick a seatbelt.

And just suppose you DON'T have a gun.  is all hope lost?  Or could you escape or have other options?  I'm guessing yes.  I figure guns are when you have no other options.

We don't have to discuss it in TAN.  But I wanted to say it in a place where most will agree.  In the other places, that kind of logic will get beat down or say it doesn't matter.

In 1999, I was locked in a bunker with all my guns in case someone punched me.  And because the world was ending due to Y2K.  Imagine my frustration when that didn't happen.

I'll party then.  My driver's license that was issued in 1993 expires in 2023.

I'll be 60 years old, probably shouldn't be driving anymore, and we can have a big party at the nursing home!  Woo Hoo!

Crazy thing...  My mom is a brilliant PHD in nursing/teacher/professor...  WAY smarter then me... but apparently, has an affinity for trashy murder mystery novels and martinis!  Funny to see that side of her.

Anyway, she has loaned a few to me through our Kindle accounts and they are FANTASTIC!  I can't put them down.  I like reading them on my Ipad and phone...

I get to strip out some landscaping which is out of control, prune the azaleas I want to keep and replant the whole thing. Why oh why do I get involved in home projects every weekend? If I'm lucky, I get to strip down the tub drain and remove the nest of hair and soap from the trap so it drains properly. Then, in Monday, I get to make dinner for my in-laws.

You may ask yourself, "well, how did I get here"?
