my claim to fame I been publicly criticized on slow twitch. I am am slow and my race report was not to RDs liking. I have no issues with what happened my only issue was the RD should have said things up front. Like getting a DQ for not completing a cut off time that was never publish that he even said did not exist beforehand. He response was well most other races have this as a cutoff. sad thing I even complements on a job well done even the circumstance (big thunder storm came through in the middle of the race.)

I never did that race again but it ended after 3 years. Turns out a lot of people did not like the RD even ones that are fast.

That made me chuckle for some reason.

yeah he big on slowtwitch and even had a slow twitch racking so they could better compete against each other.

I do count the 2nd half ironman as a finish in my book. I took 30 mins off my pr from the year before while being injured. If I was healthy I bet I would made the unknown cut off easy.

Hells Bells, If I even started a half iron I would count it as a finish. (not really, but you get my drift). Seems odd that the first year you were 30 minutes longer and yet there was no imaginary cut off.

wow... y'all are making me really glad I found this place before slowtwitch... There is a LOT of hate in just that one thread... Reading just the first page makes me want to get down to 201lbs and steamroller their butts...

I was thinking the same thing, although MMA and Boxing of course uses weight limits, maybe we could go a best of 2, 1 Tri and 1 boxing match :D

So I'm at work and saw all the posts... Finally got a chance to read that ST thread. There are some nasty people commenting there. I'd bet good money that if they added a category for A-holes, those guys would podium every time!

I especially love the ones that say, "if you want to race at 140lbs, just drop the weight". Unbelievable.

Checking in to say Hi - haven't been on much in a bit!
Still training - mostly strength and running!

I'm training for four on the fourth - a four miler on 7/4.
Doing fairly well I ran 4 in 35:15 yesterday - my fastest miles over any distance!

Feeling good!

Keep training folks!

Nice, I am doing a 5k on the 4th which is a big deal in these parts, over 800 people usually do this one. I have trained the course as part of my run for the last 3 weeks, would love to snag a top 3 but it's going to be rough. Just an idea of the top finishers, last years 1st overall was 14:47, how is that even possible over 5k!! I had no idea people run these that quickly

GL 2 anyone racing this weekend.

As for me, a week later and 3 days in the pool and I just can't believe I freaked so bad in the water. As part of my 1750m train I was doing I did an 800 at about the easiest and slowest pace I could imagine and still was 4 min ahead of my swim time LOL.

I gotta get that under control, has never bothered me before that swim, I think it was because I was a combination of being out in front, starting too fast, never RACED in ows before and then getting bumped a few too many times

I’m a C-L-Y-D-E-S-D-A-L-E! Many people in the sport know the division is there, but many of them think that it's a 'fat boys division.' So what constitutes a Clydesdale? Why even have this class?
