I have caught a stomach bug from my 16 month old. Actually she gave it to my 3 year old who gave it to me. Unless running to the bathroom every five minutes counts as one of my running goals, I will not be adding to my session count. Soo...I'm off...you know where?!?!? Oh yuck. I x2 that stomach bugs are nash-tah. Rest up, take care, then out-run the runs... LOL! |

It seems the Air Force wants me to go to Afganistan tomorrow for at least the next 10 days and then I might be able to go back to CA. So I will see if I can get some runs while I am there but I do not think that I am going to be able to get the rest of my swims in. But; no worries I will try to get them in ...... Grrr, so sorry you are are delayed coming home. I am sure your family is disappointed too. Stay safe and enjoy Afganistan??? (Not sure thats possible) |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) I had a killer training day yesterday. I got strength training, biking, swimming, more biking. It was a good day! Today, sore throat. Sucks to be me. Oh well, never fear, I will still run this afternoon! I feel better knowing that I am caught up in my goals. I'm looking to get a mountain bike. Anyone have any recommendations? Going to the LBS this morning. |

I'm a beginner but don't want a real basic bike that I will have to upgrade in the near future. |

It doesn't come in hot pink (yeah, I really do have a hot pink MTB) but they are good value for the money, IMHO. Boy Toy has one and likes it a lot. He bought it end of season a few years ago and got a great deal. |

Ive gpt a Trek MTB and if you go with a a well known brand name you cannot really go wrong in terms of getting something that will do the job. Another option is to see what is available second hand as you can generally get a better spec'd bike if you go this option but a visual inspection always helps in the this casxe to check for rust and damage... no point going this way if you are going to end up spending a lot in repairs.. |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) Thanks guys. I rode a few Specialized and a Trek today. The Trek just didn't fit. I guess I am not made of Trek's, I couldn't get a good fit on a roadie either. I fell in love with the Specialized Hardrock Sport. I was planning on spending a bit more but loved this bike. I can always upgrade later! I am so glad I went and rode at the LBS, I thought I would have been a 17 but ended up with the 19. 17 was way too small. Just another reason to support your LBS and not buy online. (8180-50_d.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 8180-50_d.jpg (18KB - 7 downloads) |

If you love the and are going to love it go for it! Specialized make great bikes so you will have no dramas with it (and - totally superficcialy I think some of their bikes are right up there on the looks department... so important dont you think?) In terms of upgrades...well depending on what the bike comes with there is always shoes/pedals, tubes, portable pump, pretty blue bar tape to match the bike and even an upgrade of the group set if you really wanted to go nuts... As long as the frame is solid you can play with the rest all you like... and the possibilities are endless! Edited by kaqphin 2008-09-09 5:57 PM |

Your pal, Dee Aaaw thanks Dee.... making sure EVERY ONE knows this fact is really going to help with my image... not sure if it helps with motivation though... And i guess fishnets would go well with my whip.... Yup, fishnets and whips go together. All you need is a pole now. LOL LOL - someone would have to offer an incredible incentive for that to happen! hmm... how exactly do yuo imagine this playing out? Everyone? Sorry, but Cat's fishnets just aren't the "proper" motivation for me. |
