8 weeks ago? I went to urgent care one night and they told me to start acid blockers. My doctor said to give them at least 4 weeks. Pain has been bad for about 2 weeks even on the acid blockers. I'm going back in tomorrow.

I was trying to put it off until after my exams and my cousin's wedding the week after. Looks like it's not going to cooperate with me.

Jen - its all coming back to me now.

This is the issue they thought might be a hernia?

Yep.  First a hernia, then an ulcer, then maybe a problem with my gall bladder.  Eventually they decided they couldn't do anything.

It came back earlier this year and it's much worse.  I was hoping it was a stomach bug, but I think it's the same problem.  I have an appointment tomorrow.

Artemis - 2009-04-08 10:23 AM I signed up to be a mentor. Hopefully people actually want to join my group.

Not if you still are having those pains.

Meanie butt

See, Jen agreed with me. LOL

Mostly because I'm tired of everyone writing the pain off. I've had it on and off for the past year. Last year, I had a whole battery of tests including ultrasound, colonoscopy, endoscopy, HIDA scan, etc. and they found nothing. Now it's back. Been on acid blockers 6 weeks, which worked before, but not anymore. I'm so sick of this.
You are???? When did this start again?

It really is a bummer that you are having to deal with this again.  I hope that this time they can get a handle on it for you.  Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Nibbs!

Post easter can someone hold me accountable for my nutrition please???? Birthday through to easter is bad!

So far Ive been at work about 20 miutes nad I already have 2 eggs on my desk!

Eggs are good for you. Um. We may not be talking about the same type of eggs though.

Well Im currently working on a theory as to why nutella is the essential part of an athletes diet so... lets see how I go with the eggs...

Are these egg eggs... or chocolate eggs?

kaqphin - 2009-04-08 7:12 PM Sounds like we need a Nibbs weight loss support group... Ive lost about 26 pounds so far but havent really lost any since my race in January although my body shape has changed.

I would like to loose about the same about again for starters... then I would still be about another 20 poinds away from my ideal weight!

Would we need to be nice to one another? I have to admit -- I've gained weight. I actually weighed less last year -- despite eating so much junk food. This year, I'm not eating junk, but my weight is going up. Bleh.

Its probably because you have so much going on right now...

With all the werk yuo arent quite as active... well you have been but that past months have been tough...

Its ok... Im sure you will get back on track

Add in thyroid issues... and metabolism slow-down... (and age, too - since I'm obviously not a teenager anymore! LOL).... and who knows if I'll ever get back on track.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear this.

When did it occur last year? Was it the same time of the year? (In other words, could there be some sort of environmental or season-related trigger?)

It starts after I do lots of training.  Maybe the jostling or extra stress on my body?

Im the girl for not fun GI symptoms!!! I could share some but not in a public forum!

I went through the gall bladder thing with a friend of mine last year... his pain was so bad we ended up doing trips to the emergency room.... turns out he has some MAJOR gall stones in there...

He didnt have really any other GI symptoms though part from Nausea...

Wow. I'm sorry to hear this. When did it occur last year? Was it the same time of the year? (In other words, could there be some sort of environmental or season-related trigger?)

It starts after I do lots of training. Maybe the jostling or extra stress on my body?
Maybe that..... Or do you change your diet when you do lots of training? Could it be something you're eating? (That you normally don't have, unless you're working out a lot?)

Not really.  I eat pretty much the same way.  It's kind of weird.

Well, I hope they figure it out this time -- and determine how to resolve it!

Im with you now! I do remember all of this!

Do yuo have any other symptoms apart from the pain?

Nausea after I eat. Other not fun GI symptoms. It hurts a lot at night too - more than in the morning.

I'm guessing gall bladder based on my symptoms, but I'm not entirely sure.

I went through the gall bladder thing with a friend of mine last year... his pain was so bad we ended up doing trips to the emergency room.... turns out he has some MAJOR gall stones in there...

He didnt have really any other GI symptoms though part from Nausea...

The other GI symptoms only happen when I eat bad food (like greasy and spicy stuff).

Artemis - 2009-04-09 12:33 PM My cats are chasing a bug through the house. It's funny.

hehe kitties do strange things... at least its free entertainment for you

I swear kitties can see ghosts. Or something else invisible.

    hmmm I wouldnt be surprised!

They are still chasing him. Griffin cat (who normally doesn't meow at all) is meowing and grumpy.  This is the most noise I ever hear him make.  It's funny when he chases bugs.
