Only 37 miles to go and at least 20 of that will be done on Sunday. I think I'll move my mileage goal to 150... I'd go higher than that, but we're heading to the Vineyard next weekend and I'm not sure if that means I won't have a bike on Fri, Sat and Sun.
LazyMarathoner - 2009-07-16 9:52 PM Hey guys. There's no way I can try to read all these padded posts so sorry I can't catch up with you all. I've been busy at work and had social plans - shocking! - the last two nights to take advantage of this moderate period I'm in. Hope everyone is doing well and getting miles in! I ran today for the first time since my HIM and felt fantastic, it was really great to not have dead legs. I'll ride tomorrow, Stage 6, intervals so not a lot of mileage but it will count! I have 65 miles on tap for Sunday too.
Hmmm....maybe there would be less padded posts if I had a social life. LOL!
I hope you enjoy your biking this weekend!
do we need to find you a social life?
I find it every once in awhile, more so in the off season.

Team, I discussed this with Cat and am going to drop my goal a bit. I vcan do 13 rides no problem...the minutes will be, especially with my hip flexors acting up again. I'm open to a fair amount to drop so if you have suggestions make them. I was thinking going down 300 minutes but that's 5 hrs out of the 8 1/2 I have left and seems a bit much....

I suggest looking at the number of rides you want to get in and then what is the length of time each ride should be so that it does not cause you problems with the hip flexors. For example: if you have 5 rides to go and can't go more than 20 minutes, that would be 100 mintues.

Or find a social life that fits in with the on season. Mine does.

Well, if your hip flexors only allow for some short rides then dropping 300 minutes shouldn't be a problem in my mind. If it turns out that things start to feel a little better and you can go longer then you can always bump the goal back up. I would hate to see you not drop it enough and then try and fit in all the minutes when you should be resting.
disturbed275 - 2009-07-17 2:15 PM How was everyone's lunch?
Grilled veggie salad with feta. I could go for a pizza now. But I'm psyched that I'm close to my first weight goal of no longer qualifying Athena, so no 'cheating' yet.

Congrats on almost reaching your goal. Definitely motivation to not cheat.
One of my friends took a half day today. She was drinking beer during lunch since she didn't have to go to work. I must admit that I was more than a little jealous.

Great job on the weight goal. I've got to get back to business with mine.

Yuck to beer at lunch. Now a little vodka...
Vodka is also good for breakfast, in bloody mary form
So, Neal. About the post challenge. I'm not gonna make it. Maybe by the end of Aug, but not July. I release you from your obligation to reach 6K (cause I'm not makeing 8K). And it will make a few other people happy.

Fine by me. We set some pretty ambitious goals and I was pretty sure I wasn't even going to be close. I'll hold you to August
