Bill- great brick, I only run that fast off the bike in my dreams!

Alex- I have not had trouble loading my workouts!

Kevin- sorry to hear about the flat, but glad you got to vent some frustration with an angry ride... As for the beer, absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Got the brick in today and I am really happy about that. Our daughter was a little cranky getting in the stroller, and we probably should have pushed our luck. About a km into the run she lost it, I am sure anyone who heard her must have thought we were torturing her! So we picked up the pace and got her home for a nap!

No beer today because I went a little overboard on the Mojito's last night, we have a mint patch in our back yard and I thought setting up a Mojito station for a small BBQ we hosted was a great idea! It was a pretty good idea until this morning.... Haven't felt like that in a while. At least I got to sweat out some of those toxins today!

Where is everyone at!?....

I guess it is the weekend and you all have lives, and are out doing fun things...

Anyways, we had a sweet family run in the rain here in Northern Ontario! Long, Slow, and Wet!!! (get yer dirty minds out of the gutter)

Great Run! Great to be back with BDAS! Hope all the training/drinking is going well!

Glad to see everyone is doing well. I'm at a stand still while the cut (loss of a large chunk of skin) on my foot from my last race heals. I hope that I will at least be able to get in the pool by the end of the week.

Recapping last week: New PR for run mileage, at 40.5 miles, including a 14 mile long run, which is insane for me. My legs are about dead, so going to take about 48 hours off from running/cycling, and then back at it on Tuesday. The last 15 miles this week were misery incarnate.

This week should be a recovery week . . . but . . . I have Rev3 Dells on the 11th, so I plan to taper next week, so I'm just going to burn this week to the ground, and then recover / taper next week.

My weight and diet have been all over the place, for both my wife and my self. This month has also been full of unexpected expenses, including a last minute trip to New Mexico that got canceled (very much to my, and my pocketbook's, detriment), so hopefully August will be a bit more under control

My weight has crept back up, despite my workout load, which is almost unbelievable. I'm going to refocus, starting today, set a baseline weight on 8/1, and go from there. I can foresee a few bad days this month (housewarming party, celebration after the two Oly's), but I should be okay.

Also, housewarming party on August 17, if anyone is in the area of the northwest suburbs of Chicago that afternoon

Charles- great mileage! I made some pretty gutsy goals for myslef on my training log dashboard that I am nowhere near, but if I can glean some motivation off of you I may have a shot! Is this Rev3 you first of that series? I was thinking of doing one as a vacation/race next year. You'll let us know how it goes I am sure!

Lastly it is only a 15hr drive for me to get to Chicago! So are we doing potluck? What can I bring

Alright BDAS'ers! Here are my goals this week! Please help me stick too them!

1- Log my food! (Food is my enemy and my secret lover! Drive through windows and excessive portions will be the death of me, literally, if I don't get a handle on this)

2- 3 runs this week min... A short tempo run working on a sub 30 min 5k pace whilst pushing a stroller, A hill workout, and a long slow run in the vicinity of 10K.

3- restart the 100 push-ups challenge ( I wussed out on this in the spring... Doing 100 push-ups in a row would be Bad ASS! And good for me to boot!)

Lets Do this!

199.9! man what I would give to see that by the end of the week. Unfortunately in my case my week would have to involve losing a limb or contracting some crazy jungle virus to have that happen!

I did step on the old scale of sorrow here today and I am at 232.2....with a body fat percentage of 32.7! Yikes!!!
(Anyone else use these body fat scales? I am wondering how accurate they are, it was only 50 dollars from Canadian Tire,so I am thinking it may be off a little.)

Alright so an addendum to my goals....to be under 200 by September 9th....my 31st Birthday....

So that is 6 weeks away, which is more than the safe 2lbs/week...blah blah blah......

I have to do something here folks otherwise its not going to be good in the future... 32.7 percent means I am obese.... and I have to get real about that....

I think it has gotten this bad because I don't have a horrible self body image, but the odd time when I do catch a glimpse of myself in the store window when walking with my wife and family I do see it and think to myself "Hey whose that fat guy walking with the pretty lady and her daughter?" ....'"Oh right, It's me..."

Anyways this is turning into a horribly long rant, annnnnd a bit of a pity parade... just needed to get it out there...

I have one of those scales, a nice digital one, and it seems generally accurate and pretty consistent. The numbers seem accurate against my freebie fat caliper I got from bodybuilding.com, so that's something.

I feel your pain - seem my rant a few days up.

In that vein, I propose a challenge - all the challengees weigh in on August 1, and we see who can do the best for the month of August. Any takers? We can do it a couple of ways - total weight lost and total weight % lost. No sandbagging the night before - so put down the pizza and beer

The bad:those scales are inaccurate.

The good:As long as it is consistent who cares! You know what you need to lose!

If you want to spend the money, go for a dunk test. I did one....very neat.

Justin, after you catch a glimpse of yourself in the window, look down at your daughter and ask yourself if you want to be around when she graduates, gets married, etc, etc. It worked for me.

That being said I've gained over the summer. I have been back on the weight loss train. Down 13lbs as of today. I am shooting for a race weight of 190 and an offseason weight of 200.

I am in for the challenge. Percentage/total, don't matter to me!

Count me in on the challenge for sure.

I think percentage of total weight lost is a fair way to do it.

Hello everyone, no I have not been abducted by aliens, just been out of touch and on vacation for the last two weeks. So here it is confession time, we had a great time on vacation and my weight shows it! Gained 7 pounds up to 217 this morning! Guess that comes from not doing a bit of exercise for almost the last two months!!!! Dang I really need a kick in the A$$. So vacation is over on Monday, and I have decided it is time to get back to eating right and regular exercise. So if you will allow me back in the BDAS, here is my plan please help me stick to it:

1-Beginning today get back to my running cycling every other day plan following 5k training plan on runkeeper (I will enter into my calendar on bt)
2-Beginning today get back to tracking everything on Loseit (Dave, Alex please keep me honest here!)
3-Beginning Monday no alcohol and only healthy eating (why not start today . . . well I am still on vacation, and my buddies wedding is Saturday, so I foresee alcohol and good food over the weekend)
4-Begin and follow Just 6 weeks app which includes 100 pushups, 200 situps, 150 dips, 200 squats, and 20 pullups
5-register and complete Master of the Mountain Race September 14!

I also plan on getting back on the boards and helping to support everyone on here nightly as I used to! Sorry for the lack of support lately, hopefully you are all doing well!

I've also signed up for my first official race, the San Diego TriRock (sprint). I'm not fully capable of swimming the distance non-stop but after being out in the OW this week, I feel confident that I'll be ready by Sep 22.

Have a good weekend everyone, I'll report about my first race later.

I will see you in San Diego...may be a bit gimpy still but I will be there!

On the board today with 199.9 lbs. body fat% unknown. (that's short for saying fat) Started this off at 212. Goal is 160. If I can see 190 by the end of August, I'm a happy man.

Had a killer run today. started out fast, and got faster. The highlight was seeing the same guy running his dog I've seen several times. Ran behind him for about a quarter of a mile before kicking it into high and went right on by. ran a 7:40 mile for that mile!
