My kids love the stuff but it just grosses me out to think about it. Now a s'more is something I could eat, no matter how deadly they are for the his and butt! I have a sister in law who just puts a toased marshmallow between the halves of a hershey bar (no graham crackers for her) and goes to town on these things. yeah, for one of them I would definitely break training right now...they're better than booze and almost as good as , well you get the idea..tnickerson - 2007-11-07 6:56 AM kaqphin - 2007-11-06 2:47 PM Yoganerd - 2007-11-07 6:31 AM Atlantia - 2007-11-06 12:29 PM tnickerson - 2007-11-06 1:27 PM Curses, foiled again! And now...off to find some lunch. Its terrible how I can sit down here on BT for "just a few minutes" and a couple of hours go by.BTW girls, DON'T listen to the fluffer nutter diet advice. It's a plot to keep our legs lookin' worse than hers! Hah, I'm onto your little scheme...... Tammy, thank you for saving me from her diabolical plot... I was just about ready to sink my teeth into a fluffer-nutella sandwich! UMMM.... whats fluffer? The only definition I can think of is NOT something you eat... Morning Cat! Sure was quiet around here without you! Fluffer refers to Marshmallow fluff, whipped marshmallow in a jar. Have a good night? Seriously??? Isnt that just sugar and gelatine??? And you then .... make a sandwich of it? Wow that sounds so weird but mildly mysterious Well since Im not gettting any... ummm.. I could use these as a substitue? (oops did I just take the tone in here down a bit) So Im assuming a hershey bar is just a block of choclate... with toasted marshmellow in the middle... yummy! I havent had a toasted marshmello since forever Can you do it on a gas cooker? Otherwise a choclate wheaten and a marshmellow in the microwave is a good substitute I still cant imagine eating a marshmello sandwich though.... Oh oh oh... they are kind of like Mallowpuffs... I miss those... maybe a trip back to NZ is in order |

Nasal saline spray...at most stores for a buck and change...took me a while to get used to, but it helps...wait until open water...(oh, I guess that's not much motivation...) Actually, swimming in open water doesn't really freak me out much. I just find practicing it boring and the progress painfully slow in getting better. As far as the open water, I was referencing the sinus infections, or in my case sinus irritation...I think it's worse than the pool... My progress has been PAINFULLY slow...I'm STILL not where I want to be...still can't swim a hundred in under 1:40, but still it beats my first few days of swim training (December 2005)...4 min/100 yds. I'm consistently below 2 min/100 on continuous swims, but IT TOOK 2 YEARS!!! The BT training plans have great drills to help balance, but I'm realizing I'll probably need to take lessons eventually. Swimming (well, at least swim training) is the most enjoyable part of my training...I bum out a little when I miss a swim workout...funny thing is I used to have coniption fits when I missed a run workout, but now I can miss one without too much stress (uh, I guess until marathon season...). Ehh...it's an acquired taste... |

There's plenty of support for newbies and elites, but not for us in the middle. Man, that's a bummer. From what I could pick up from TAN, I guess that's why Scout took a haitus...that's just sad. I fortunately haven't received any flack for having slow swim times. I think I'm harder on myself than other people are. Here's the way I look at it. In an 600 yd sprint swim, swimming at 3 min/100 yds, it would take someone 18 min to finish the swim. A faster swimmer swimming 1:40s would do it in 10 mins. Not all fast swimmers are also fast bikers and runners, so that would put the 3 min/100 swimmer behind by only 8 min. That would only put me 2 min behind. I love the fact that I can easily make up the 2 minutes passing up swimmers with less biking and running experience (yeah, I know it's a bad thing). It makes that deficit seem insignificant. I'm still MOP/BOP depending on the race distance, but TRIs ARE SO FUN...IT DOESN'T MATTER. I have a blast. Triathletes/cyclists/marathoners are some of the funnest people around and are very encouraging during races. I'm hoping this forum doesn't get as critical as SlowTwitch (runs for cover...) |
