Look... when in Appalachia, remember that they don't like outsiders. They've been screwed over by the world outside Appalachia for so long, they have reason to be distrustful. Just be yourself. Don't try to blow smoke up their @$$es... Make a genuine effort meet them where they are without sounding judgmental, nor sounding like they need help nor patronizing them. Appalachians are fiercely independent and self-sufficient. The reality is, despite the distrust and we don't need nothing veneer... they are good people. From what I know of you Ryan, you'll be fine if you aren't a dbag... otherwise you'll be squealing like a pig...
