OK... so it's official. I'm a complete geek.

I read through all the posts from the past few days (awesome posting,  bugs!!). And when I realized that I'd never be able to remember everything I wanted to reply to... I took notes Tongue out.  Geez....

Nope, years with 0 count for 10.

It's not gonna happen!

The run, I could do... The bike.... ya, okay, with guns pointing or for a really good cause.  The swim.... 5 MILES, nope, can't see it.  But you never know...

You can change it to yards x 1000 if you want, for less glory.
I am okay with that.

I, too, am from New York (Catskill mountain area) with family pretty much all from Michigan.

So I root for the MI teams: Pistons, Lions, Red Wings, Tigers.... by and large, that's meant a fairly painful sports repertoire for my life. The Wings have tended to be a saving grace.

You'll notice I'm not mentioning Friday's game Cry.

The birthday challenge sounds intense... maybe that'll be my goal for next year. Right now, I'm pretty sure that many miles on a bike would kick my butt. But awesome job to those of you who are giving it a shot!!

I read Jen's (Artemis) post about updating spreadsheets before going away. Sorry bugs!! Embarassed

Saw that we're number 1 (WAY TO GO!!) even without my updates, but I'll be sure to update before any traveling next time.

So sorry to hear about your Mom's accident! How's she doing? Any update on the surgery status? Hope she's healing quickly, and staying relatively pain-free....

lkc01234 - 2009-06-13 5:15 PM Well I did it! I did it!!  I ran (jogged) the WHOLE race...not even stopping for water!  (I did drink water...just didn't stop)  Race report will be posted soon...but did I mention I did it!?!?  My time was right around 37:00 - - I can't believe that!  I was kinda really thrilled!!  That was only the 2nd 5K I've ever done - - and probably only the 2nd time I've gone that distance...ever!! WOO HOO!!

:patting self on the back:

Congratulations!!! Great job!!!!

Oooooo, Chicago. One of my fav cities!! Some others have already given great ideas, but I'll add my endorsement of the Hancock Tower - the Signature Room isn't terribly expensive (relative to regular city prices) and it's got an incredible view in basically all directions. The Field Museum is a must if you haven't been there before, and I love to talk down the Magnificent Mile after dinner, just to people-watch.

Food-wise, what do you like eating? There's a great sushi restaurant (I can't remember the name of it, but could find it if you're interested) but it's not so great if you don't like sushi!!

kcarroll - 2009-06-14 8:31 AM Melissa, thanks for getting us caught up!  I was on another thread.  Lots of BT time today while the poor mom is sleeping ....thanks to better living thru pharmaceuticals.  I think you should set a weekend goal that gets you over 1500.  Come back later tonight and get it done.  We'll probably need your help once Trefecta sees what you've done.

Hope your mom heals quickly

You should definitely visit Alaska whenever you can... it's among the best places on earth!! Any time you're thinking about making it, let me know!! There are so many incredible things to see and do.

(FYI, AK cruises and cruise/rail tours are SUPER cheap this year, since the economy has forced so many people to cut back on travel.)

I don't have any pets. I would love to have a dog, but the lease I have right now only allows 1 pet and my housemates already have a dog.

Having a dog to run with sounds like so much fun... it might even make running a little more enjoyable! Hmm... maybe I could persuade my landlord that I need to get a dog for health purposes?
