(But be careful, as it can stain clothing.) Or, Ivarest is good too ebshot - 2009-06-28 3:29 PM How long does poison ivy take to go away? When does it stop spreading? I have some areas that are almost gone but more popping up. I don't get it! I'm not scratching either! Seems to me that it can take a week to 10 days to go away. Use the calamine lotion to sooth the itching. It sucks, but it just takes time.
I might have to look for that. Certain areas are feeling much better but I have a spot that just popped up right at my waistband that is a pain in the arse! Well, the Ivarest contains calamine. So it'll stain clothing too. But it's good at stopping the itch and drying up the rash.... |

I have never been. We are gonna hit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Franklin Museum. I went to Philly a few times.... Someone tried to break my car window with a brick. Other than that though, it was a nice place. LOL |

When does it stop spreading? I have some areas that are almost gone but more popping up. I don't get it! I'm not scratching either! AKKKKK! I hate poison ivy! I'm so allergic to it, that it takes about 2-3 months for it to go away on me. I think for most people though, it's probably about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. As for the spreading, it's not really.... What happens is this: 1) You touch the plant, and get the oil on your skin. 2) You don't realize you have the oil on you, so you touch someplace else, thereby getting the oil there too. (But generally, it's a lesser amount.) 3) A couple of days after contact, the rash appears. 4) Then, shortly after that, you get the rash in those secondary places that came in contact with the oil. I can't believe that you live in CT, and haven't gotten poison ivy before! (Lucky you!) That is just wrong Dee. 2-3 months??? Yikes. I really don't think it is poison ivy. I think it's poison oak. I have been in and around poison ivy before and have never gotten it. Even when my sister was covered with it, I didn't get it. Sooooo, I think it's something else. Oh well, no matter, it is itchy and not nice! So.... let's do an EXPERIMENT! 1) Take poison ivy. Rub it on one arm. 2) Take poison oak. Rub it on the other arm. 3) See which arm bothers you more. (ACK! DON"T WAVE THAT TASER AT ME!) |

So... why didn't you change your goal to "almost 77km" then? LOL Actually, I think you should change it to 82 km, and run tomorrow or Tuesday. I thought about it but normally I shouldn't run before Wednesday, but who knows Hm. Well, in that case -- never mind! If that ITBand is behaving, let's not bother it more than we have to! |

When does it stop spreading? I have some areas that are almost gone but more popping up. I don't get it! I'm not scratching either! It can take 3-4 weeks + at worst -- some people who are more susceptible or for stronger oils from certain types of ivies, aside from continuing to spread during showering even several days later, it can become somewhat systemic. Even though hot water may seem to relieve the itching, cold water helps stave off the spread because it closes your pores. Seriously, if you're still bugged by it and you've gotten little relief, ask your doc for some meds! - prednisone or some other steroidal will help your body fight it! Sometimes it doesn't have anything to do with you touching it. Just stop showering Yep. Quebec <---> Connecticut. You're probably out of the "smell zone." |

Of course, you could just cut back on "other" stuff, and keep that consumption constant. Wait, what????? Alcohol has calories????? I thought since it was a fluid it was calorie free???? WTF is that???? I don't believe anything you said, alcohol is calorie free Unfortunately, these Pepperidge Farm Milano cookes are not! But they're soooooooooooooooo good! |

I couldn't find the official results afterward and nothing's online yet, but I think I finished 2:26:XX. A couple minutes off my PR but considering in was not wetsuit legal I'm not too disappointed. No wetsuits allowed? Was it just too warm? Yeah. Water temp was 82 this morning. That was down from 86 the day before |
