disturbed275 - 2009-07-17 2:15 PM How was everyone's lunch?

Grilled veggie salad with feta.  I could go for a pizza now.   But I'm psyched that I'm close to my first weight goal of no longer qualifying Athena, so no 'cheating' yet.

i had a lovely pitta bread with houmus (with added diced tomato xD)

Team, I discussed this with Cat and am going to drop my goal a bit.  I vcan do 13 rides no problem...the minutes will be, especially with my hip flexors acting up again.  I'm open to a fair amount to drop so if you have suggestions make them.  I was thinking going down 300 minutes but that's 5 hrs out of the 8 1/2 I have left and seems a bit much....

I suggest looking at the number of rides you want to get in and then what is the length of time each ride should be so that it does not cause you problems with the hip flexors.  For example: if you have 5 rides to go and can't go more than 20 minutes, that would be 100 mintues.

Key is to stay healthy.

So I checked the spreadsheet.  I have 4 rides left.  At the original goal 8 1/2 hrs of riding.  Now way will my body do that in 4 rides.  Realistically.....a ride around 40 miles tomorrow, another one Monday around 25 miles, possibly Tuesday.  If not I can definitely ride Wednesday since I won't be running.  I have to pack for our trip north cause we're leaving Friday afternoon.  Might be able to ride Saturday once we get up to NY.

Drop down to 330 minutes. Seems a fair balance.

I rode yesterday, trainer intervals and oh so boring, but it was Stage 6, I'm at 57% of goal. My first real post-race ride is tomorrow.

I did a swim race in the Hudson this morning and am so tired and unmotivated. it's 2:15 and I still have a 14-mile run to do. Ugh.

Did about 27 miles this morning which is a 3 miles longer and 1-mph avg faster than last ride.

110.2 of 150 miles.  Just 2 Stages and 40 miles to go!

Made it to the end of the Minuteman Bikeway today for Stage 6 of TdF wearing my new yellow Bellweather jersey I bought yesterday.  I usually don't allow enough time before work to make it all the way there and back, so tackling the distance on the weekend was nice.  The end of the bikeway isn't the most climactic looking thing, but here it is.  Aside from a bike shop across the way, an old Boston & Main rail car sits next to the 1870s-vintage railway and freight house that have been historically preserved at Depot Park in Bedford, MA....

Got in about 66 miles today so I'm only 3 stages and 45 miles from goal, won't be a problem. I think I have 4 more rides on tap on the schedule. My legs were beyond trashed from yesterday's sufferfest of a long run, I could barely walk normally when I got out of bed, but thank god the ride went ok. I don't know how my poor body keeps bouncing back, IM training has really amazed and humbled me.

Nice job on the ride!  Normally I find graffiti/vandalism pointless, but that made me chuckle a little.

The plan was to swim and run today, but I got home a little too late to make the swim.  My 17 mile run took priority.

Hope you had a good, fun match

Nice swim in the hudson.  We'll take that trainer ride.  It counts.  I'll be on the trainer a bunch this week to catch up on my goal.
