mjh1975 - 2011-06-30 10:21 PM Good morning all.

Perfect Matty Matt ... how do you do?

Not to bad. One client meeting today and then golf in the afternoon with clients. Hard to complain. How are things on your end.

Morning, Kate!

So to all the Americans (so far, it looks like Cord and Kate), what are you guys up to for July 4?

Just hanging out at our house with the kids and swimming all day, this weekend is crazy with softball for my daughter so Sunday and Monday are going to be a welcome site for relaxing.

Morning, Kate!

So to all the Americans (so far, it looks like Cord and Kate), what are you guys up to for July 4?

Spending the day with my friends at my buddys house drink'n and eat'n. He lives about 900 m from the beach and they do a big firework show over the water.

Look at you getting all metric on us. Unless you really mean miles and you're going to the texas panhandle.

It's Peter so I went M because that's all I know because of running. I only know 5k and 10k, I have no idea how far a 1k is.

Haha, thanks. I appreciate it. 1.6km is approx. 1mi, for future reference :P

I'm not saying anything, I'm just saying, metric makes WAY more sense than imperial

I like metric for tools that is for sure.

Inches still sounds better than milimeters for some tools.

Not true: Cord's tool would be 254mm or 2.54cm instead of 1". Sounds almost impressive in metric.

Yea but mili and centi are both words for small things and conjure up images of little bitty things, inches at least has some heft to it.  Or have I been working in 1,10, and 100 mililiter increments for too long?

Out of curiosity, why does it make a difference as a mechanic? I think I'd prefer whichever tools I needed to use? haha

Less thinking. That 16mm was too small, ok use a 17mm.

I completely agree. Glad it's a method I get to enforce, and don't have to follow, though
