Here's some of their suggestions to create your own. I also put the link to the full article at the bottom for your perusal. I like Be Light, Be Bold!!! Of course, it all pretty much comes down to Piglet. Burger. Piglet. Burger. by the end of a long race. I say whatever works! |

Of course, it all pretty much comes down to Piglet. Burger. Piglet. Burger. by the end of a long race. I say whatever works! I have yet to establish a mantra for myself. I have thought about it a lot though. It was interesting to read Shalane Flanagan's "cold execution." I would like to think that mine would be the exact opposite of that. Something more along the lines of Usain Bolt... For God's sake if you aren't having fun out there, what is the point. |

Grrrrmph grumph garble garble ... at least I'm putting it to good use and actually trying to put my bike into the new fit specs. I eyeballed it for the HIM. I hadn't ridden my road bike since ... since ... well, it's been a few months. What's amazing is how close I got. I'm thinking, why did I have a 9-hour fitting if I can eyeball it to within millimeters and degrees? Oh ... because those mm and degrees start making a BIG difference when the miles really pile up. And I imagine, during that horrible black hole stretch on the bike everyone seems to go through during an IM. |

There's been talk of "gravity storms" in the daily training thread in the main forum ... you know ... nothing to do but surrender to it and lie down and nap. Well, we did just have significant nap repartee in here, we just didn't say "gravity storm." If you think about it ... a long run is a serious gravity storm right there! |

I think seeing someone else get literally run over helped give my crotch pain some perspective. |

I have seen some truly unbelievable alcohol feats pulled off by Hashers. Seriously, they show up plastered, drink for on-course 'hydration,' and then after the run is when the real drinking STARTS. And some of them are FAST. |

They have cycling hash clubs, too, though they're less common. But the Hash runners are worldwide. Really awesome, I have to say. Veteran 940 Citrus Heights, CA | Subject: RE: Yanti & Lynn: Manatee Madness Mentor Group CLOSED Hey all! Nice to see some totals; I'll put mine on here momentarily. I was kinda off the radar a bit due to a nasty effect of taking too many Naproxens---I know, stupid me!---In my defense, they are the only thing that really touch my headaches (which are WAY too common!)...anyway, I got pretty dang sick on Sunday, and have been recovering since--today was the first day I actually felt semi-normal. Now, to be honest, I am kinda happy to see that I lost five pounds, but it really wasn't worth the whole not being able to eat for a few days...I really do love my food, after all. Also, I found out last Thursday that I was being called in to be a "witness" during a disciplinary hearing for a coworker on Monday...SOoooo, its been a stressful, sickly week so far...and now Clint thinks he's coming down with something. I did get back to my training today, so at least that's something. Here's my stats..
Not bad, that is a new record amount of biking and running for me in one month, but my swim was less than December...it'll do for now. |
