The batteries are cheaper than they used to be and need replacing way less than they thought. I have been researching them pretty heavily lately. It is looking like the Prius V in the battle of the prices now. An hour ago it was the VW. We will see where it ends up by the end of the day.

I am glad you are feeling better Ann. Middle school is hard. There are so many changes happening all at once. I hope your boy does fine. He is a GOOD kid. Tell him I said Hi. (Tell the girl, too. she is a GOOD kid, too).

I have a new car. It is the Prius V. Way better than the old Prius and we got it for way less than the Jetta and it comes with more. It handles really well, it is not a sport car but it goes zippy enough for me and handles the curves and hills here like a champ. I have driven 60 miles in it and just barely used a gallon of gas! The good and bad news is that they didn't want my old car (the Subaru named Rocket) so he is still here. He will be the work horse in the family... for now anyway.

I am off to a staff meeting to meet the new employee. I hope she is a good one.

I feel bad for my son. Middle school is hard. Kids are jerks. Everyone is trying to figure out who they are and where they fit in. Caleb is his own man, he always has been. He's a good kid. I have people compliment me all the time on how easy he is to talk to, how hard a worker he is, how as a kid he looks you in the eye to talk to you. He's also smart, his sense of humor is getting better, and he's a good lookin kid.

We talked last night. He has been sitting by himself at lunch because some other kid he doesn't really like took his seat at the lunch table. This kid also partnered with his best friend for their science project. Caleb said his BF doesn't really like this kid, but he can't get rid of him. Both Caleb and his BF are too nice to say anything. It makes me sad that he's kind of alone right now.

I also found out last night that he likes football, he has been telling me he doesn't, it's the kids in the locker room that he doesn't like. He said they're fine all day long, but once they get in the locker room some of them have some MAJOR attitudes. He said the receivers/running backs/quarter backs all have attitudes and really get on the rest of the lineman. I told Caleb to remind all of them that without an offensive line THEY are NOTHING.

I hope he doesn't change to try and fit in. I told him last week that if you're lucky enough to be different from everyone that you should never change. Hopefully things get better for him.

Since we're talking cars...

I have a little Chevy Aveo. It's 6 years old, 125,000+ miles, and the back corner is dinged up (Donnie hit my car sitting in the driveway - don't get me started). I was going to keep it when I get my new vehicle, it gets great gas milage. It's starting to nickel and dime though. Not sure what I'm going to do.

I'm still sick. Haven't really been able to drink or eat since Monday evening. I was going to go in to the office today though. Other than run down I don't feel sick. When I got up I was dizzy and lightheaded, felt like I was going to pass out when I tilted my head back in the shower to rinse my hair. I took the day off. I'm going to rest. If I can't eat or drink, I'm heading to the doctor.
