Wow... 13 or more pages in just over 12 hours....

Those who weren't even drinking last night have been posessed by pirates...

Did the pirates make Amy walk the plank?.... She hasn't shown up to the gym yet...

Oh boy, this is going to be one interesting Monday.

Better finish building my basketball teams.

Thanks... I'm percrastinating on building my teams...

was checking out website... debating signing up for my first tri... It's not until June 7th, but looks like it might be a great first race tri for me.  I hate the word race, not the competitive type (except with self).

It's a Sprint (800 m, 12 mi, 3.1 mi)

A little nervous b/c they require wet suits... Been thinking... how does a lady get through the transition area from swim to bike... Does your swim suit fit under your wetsuit?  I've gotta wear a sports bra for the run!!  How do I figure that in?  Of course I know I can do it under a sweatshirt.

Idea... Hang bra and sweatshirt on bike... Learn to ride bike while putting on bra... Chagne into sports bra for run while riding bike.  TaDaaa!!!

here's the website racetri.com  Salem Race (the pic's look way cool and mellow)

perfect distance for your first event!  It looks like a really cool race tri

I've never worn a wetsuit, so I'm no help in that dept although I'm sure you will get lots of great advice

the one thing I would advise is to wear a multi sport suit rather than trying to figure out how to change, especially in a sprint distance you don't want to have to hassle with additional changes in the transition

a great book that you might want to read is "Triathlons for Women" by Sally Edwards.  It's an easy read and contains lots of great tips and some good stories as well, it really boiled it down to the basics for me.

I'll have to definitely grab that.  Hopefully, by that time next year, I'll be able to get by wearing only a tri suit under the wetsuit.  As of now I need granny sports bra (DD - that I barely fit into) to beable to "run."  At my smallest I actually could do water aerobics with only one swimsuit layer with race back support.  I've got lots to loose if I'm going to get back down to a C - my goal.

Why is everything underlined??

You could use the word event rather than race.

Also, regarding the sports bra, get a quick dry one. That is what I have done. Have a tri top and shorts and still use the sports bra underneath. It worked wonderful for my first tris this year. But then again, i did not have to use a wetsuit. But I would think that your tri outfit would fit under the wetsuit.

Talk like a pirate day was on Sept 19th...LOL

Either we're a few months behind around here..... Or more likely - the combined mass of all the Twisnibbins posts has created a distortion in the space-time continuum.

Help! I've fallen into the black hole of BT, and I can't get out!

quick dry is essential for all of the attire - good point!

and, i like the recommendation to use event - that's what I usually call it :-)

Hmm...that seems awfully weird that they would REQUIRE wetsuits in Salem pond...is that springfed?  I know I've been up to Deer Creek Res and the water there is COOOOOOLLLLLDD!!!!!(mountain runoff).  Oh, I guess I just answered my own question.  You guys probably have mountain runoff into late May.

And yes.  You can wear a tri suit under your wetsuit.  No need to change.  First tri...I'm excited for ya!

Okay, checked library database and couldn't find the Sally Edwards book (did find lots of others though).

Has anyone heard of Christina Gandolfo... Found a book on Human Kinetics website for the Woman Triathlete.

maybe I should just try some of the free books at the library first...

Guess first, I've got to find a way to get away from this computer and MOVE!!!

Nibbins Notes:  11/19/2007(pages 24 – 37):
Nighttime Nibbins recap – starting somewhere after page 24,  “rubbing off, burning lips, authentic enchiladas and getting off (of work, of course)” – I’ll leave it to you to discover the details - LOLOL

Amy – definitely getting protective of her *stars* - LOLOL, seeking input on music during running and biking – taking best on how long she can leave her kids alone without a catastrophe

Scott – foot continues to feel better, went for a short bike ride.  He needs to pony up his input for Cat (and quickly, the party is coming up!!!

Yanti – cravings have been temporarily stayed. Her roommate delivered chips and salsa from El Tarasco. MMMMMMM!!   She’s experiencing some taper madness, so be kind to the girl J

Judi – has a new *star*, and is thinking through some difficult career questions

Mila – Showed her thrill seeking hubby an exciting video (link below), sounds like he’s going to start planning their next vacation – LOL.  She’s teaching a couple of spin classes and then going to do her ‘real’ job – Hey Mila, what is your real job???  Showed her thrill seeking hubby the video in the link below - and he now has some interesting ideas for a vacation ;-)

Kristen – is a big fan of the  services that pre-make the meals and then you can heat them up = ‘My Girlfriends Kitchen’ is she and her hubby’s favorite

Kendra – Had a beautiful walk at Calloway Gardens.  It was warm and she wished she had worn shorts.  She would definitely it again, but next time she will bring a flashlight.  No pics?  What was she thinking? LOL.  She has two cute kitties, Shadow and Cassie.  She also made an excellent contribution to the ‘talk like yeer from Scotln’ Day  http://www.fife.50megs.com/scots-glossary.htm

Cat – is leaning toward a certain option, she’s given some clues,
