Umm whats a dippin dot?

Dippin' Dots are tiny beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice

Um. Why? What's wrong with regular old high-fat, high-sugar, high-calorie ice cream?

Good ol' food marketing gimmick...look at all the air space between those little balls of ice cream. Fill up a cup container full of full fat ice cream -- HEAVY. Fill up a cup container of Dippin Dots -- nice and light. Great strategy. Pay more for less... I doubt they're using liquid nitrogen to freeze them...probably a depositor on a belt and a really cold freezer...

But my kids think they're cool...

I hadn't even thought about the food marketing angle - with all of the air space and whatnot - LOL!

I got an e-mail from USAT saying I qualified for Long Course Nationals with my performance at Mooseman. I didn't know that race was a qualifier. Cool! Now if I could just afford the entry fee and a trip to Vegas, I'd be good to go.
