Happy Friday team!  How is everyone's day going so far?

I just checked the forecast and the rain is supposed to stop........at midnight.  Sigh.  I guess I will be running tomorrow.

Does this mean 12:01 AM?

No, I will not be running at 12:01 am.  Unless I am sleep-running.  Or dreaming about training, which does happen on occassion.  Lately most of my dreams have been about swimming, though.

Are you logging those miles that you run in your dreams?

toddg - 2009-06-05 1:49 PM Happy Friday all.

Heading out tomorrow with the family and visting friends to take them to the Grand Canyon for the day. Haven't decided if I'm going to haul the bike along or just get a long run in while there.

That should be fun Enjoy your trip!

Yea!  This calls for cake

Heh, I see we're back to food again. IMO, *everything* calls for cake. And if it doesn't call for cake, it calls for COOKIES!

Great, now I am hungry ... again

COOKIES! I want to make cookies... but we dont have all the ingredients I need...

And since I have no car I dont fancy WALKING to the supermarket to do shopping at almost 9pm on a Saturday night..

disturbed275 - 2009-06-05 2:52 PM That reminds we have a local race called the donut run.  It's a 5k where you get time taken off your total for every donut that you eat along the route.  I have not been able to partake yet, but it sounds like fun.  Personally though, i'd rather run the 5k and then eat my donuts, but maybe that's just me.

That reminds me - today is national donut day!  (Really.)

I bet the sprinkles make pretty colored vomit puddles along the race course.  Eeeewwww....

Eeeewwww  ..... the worst, I am sure if I google it I will find a picture of it

My roommate in college did a bike race called tour de donut. Same concept as the donut run...I wonder which would be harder!

Depends where you ask, but I guess all of us have been there on a Friday night at some point

My bet would be on the run being much harder.  I can eat a meal and get on the bike shortly afterward and I can eat energy bars and stuff while riding.  I can't eat anything before or during a run, except gels.

So I guess maybe if they were jelly filled donuts and I just squeezed that out......

Okay - cookies, cake, and donuts?  That's just not fair.  I actually drooled a little bit looking at the pictures.  Hmmm...maybe that's a sign that I need to have something to eat.

Every Friday, my company has doughnuts in the morning. Now that is torture.

I have zero willpower when it comes to free donuts.  I would have one every Friday  morning.  And then I'd go back for seconds.

edit - hungry, hungry hippo toppage

I am bad like that too

D001 - 2009-06-05 6:56 PM Speaking of running and donuts.... We have the annual "Krispy Kreme Challenge." "Beginning at the NC State Belltower, each runner runs 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme store located on Peace St. in Raleigh. After downing a full dozen of the famous Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the runner must run the two miles back. All in one hour." And this is from their FAQ: Am I allowed to throw up? Okay, we can’t technically stop you from throwing up, and quite frankly, that’s just part of the race, but don’t MAKE yourself throw up. The real challenge is to keep all 12 down, so don’t cheat yourself. I think they closed the race at 5,000 participants this year.... http://www.krispykremechallenge.com

Doesn't sounds like that much fun ... 12 donuts is a bunch hehe

I think I could handle the donut challenge.  Bring it on...  Isn't there some race where you run a mile and then pound a beer, run another mile, pound a beer, and so on until you puke or pass out?   I think I could enjoy "training" for that one.

The training sure sounds like fun ... I trained for the beer part yesterday night, just forgot to run between each of them

We have free soft serve ice cream in our cafeteria.  I've gotten pretty good at resisting, but every once in awhile I cave
