Bill, I am still awaiting more photos and I am also ticked that you lost 5 pounds by being sick and I am up 1 today being sick. UNFAIR!!!! Stacie. it is good to hear from both of you. Stacie, you amaze me with your positive attitude during all of your life changes. Neal, did you swim for me this weekend? I feel sorta waterlogged. Katie, Dee, Ann, Jules. Wazhapppening? Any ideas anyone???? lots of photo storage websites...I use snapfish...allows you store pictures, organize, order prints....and you dont have to worry about your computer taking a dump...they will always be there! |

My new shoes should be here this week, and hopefully my dog does not eat them before I get home. Are speedplays worth the $$? Speaking of my dog, she is 2 today. AND her leg was NOT broken the other week, she did however have a dislocation, which is probably what I mistook as the break. My sister in law called last evening and told me she would pay the vet bill. She was in tears, and I told her she wasn't paying the bill, it was an accident, accidents happen. I really felt bad for her, she was really upset about the whole thing. I was upset by the way my husband handled it, not that it happened. Anway, it's over, and she's back to running around like the maniac that she is. Now... pedals... what do you think? owie...that sounds painful! super glad that it is up and running about again! as for the pedals...I can not imagine racing without clip pedals - I do not have speedplay but I highly recommend them from past riding. they are lighter at least half the weight of most clip pedals and much less then standard box or toe clip pedals... and are easy to clip in and out of as well as good for rounding corners. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM ANN(E)! |

My old road bike had looks but I like being able to walk without killing myself so I stick (makes a little more sense than still) with SPD type shoes. I will probably go with SPD's but I was just curious about the Speedplay's. if you are not used to spd's and dont have a mtn bike that you will be switching them back and forth...then I would go with speedplay! but you may want to take this to the my cup of joe forum!?? sounds like lots of spd'ers here! |

He's 5-9, probably a 54-ish bike size? Currently he has an old cannondale mtn bke--an 800, I believe. Of course he's droolingover all the carbon fiber frames and whatnot--but he's just gonna have to get out there with me on a cheap(er) bike before I let him spend that much money on a bike. (i however, can spend whatever I want...  )think of me as JULIE BILLY! since this question was to bill...If I were looking for a good used bike, I would either go to the classified on the BT site, craigslist for your area. and even go to the triathlons around you...especially Ironman competitions..cant tell you how many bikes and gear I see for sale in the venue areas or parking lots. BT classified has some amazing deals on bikes...lots of people who buy a road bike and then upgrade to a tri bike...most often you can get a great deal! living in Utah...there should be lots of good bikes around you! last but not least is your local bike shop...many times someone will come in and buy a new bike and ask the bike store if they can sell it or if they know of someone....we have found a few this way! GOOD LUCK! its great having the hubby to train with! |

I have 20 minutes until we start department training. Yay for 5-6 hours in the conference room! Tom, I don't know if I missed any updates last week but anymore news on deployment status? I was thinking that I could go back active duty for you for the deployment term and you could stay in SD with the family. Think Uncle Sam and SecNav would be good with that? I don't know, but it's worth a shot! As for the status, it's still up in the air but as of now I'm scheduled to report to Newport, RI for 2 months of school on March 8. That will be followed by a couple months of deployment on my new ship. The whole situation is very grr... there is still time for them to see if your way....or as they say it is not over til the fat lady sings...and I have no intentions of singing between now and say Christmas! |

But today they were doing a test of how many laps they could swim in an hour ... even the two coaches. So no coaching. Oh well. I just did my usual sets. It went pretty well. |
