great week of training nats!!! keep it up

Nats - 2010-01-31 8:56 AM

Good morning peeps!

I managed to get 7 hours of solid training this week and I am quite happy about that.  Yay for me!

2300m swim and a 4.2 miles (6.76 km) very slow run on the treadmill this morning.  Had I done it outside, my pace would have been about 30" less per km.

I begin working with my triathlon coach tomorrow.

Time to go for an hour long walk with Macha the Wonderdog.

Nats out!

Not sure.  She comes from a litter of 5.  All were born up in Bella Coola.  The owner surendered all five pups and an airline offered to fly them down to Vancouver for free.  None of the pups look alike.  They think Sophie is part golden retrieiver and part terrier.  Just came from the vet today (she was being fitted for a cone because whe will be spayed on Wednesday).  They weighed her and she's 35 lbs. (she's now five months).  She's going to be a big girl (lol).

aquagirl - 2010-01-31 8:52 AM Karen is she a Lab? Or a Golden Retriever?
They look so alike as pups.

aquagirl - 2010-01-30 7:04 PM Chris......you have listed a TON of positives from your improved level of fitness.
But I can see why you are frustrated.
Have you been monitoring your bodyfat %? This is often a much better indication of whats going on than the amount that you weigh.
Just a thought.....

Keep up the AWESOME work!

WAY TO GO!   WOOT! WOOT!

I agree with Helen on BF% and on all the positives that have come so far.  Plus, I would think that if people are asking and your gut is decreasing, your clothes are fitting better.  There's a clue that the things you are doing; are working.  A second plus, it took many years to get to Nov.  It will take some time  Third plus, I was taught that the first 6-8 weeks of any conditioning/strengthening program is mostly the neurological and physiological changes after that the physical changes start to really show up. Patience and persistance are key.   just a few thoughts......

I agree with the above.  Go by how your clothes feel and not by the scale.  You will get there.

Shouldn't you peeps be working out instead of chit-chatting so early?

Same could be said for you as well.........

Not bad for being under 1000 posts.

Well I just realized I'm 50 seconds short of 12 hours running. I think I'll go out and run a minute. How/why did I put 10 seconds in my log?

Can you estimate trainer miles?
I use a garmin on my trainer it has wheel and cadence sensors.

Bopper - 2010-01-31 11:09 PM

Here are the Bopper totals...

Bike - 9:43 (all trainer... so no mileage)
Run - 1:37 .... 13 km... not bad for first time in 6 months
Swim - 8:46 ... 16.5 km
Yoga - 5:40
Strength - 2:00

Physical Therapy and Massage - 5 hours.

Hopefully everything will begin to build again soon.

I've been a little awol - but Saturday I did a long run - 7.5 miles and yes - there was wogging.  and snotsicles.  and an errant dog picked up by a well meaning lady who brought him to me (having no clue it was my dog)  -- ended up being a miserable run with all that added to an 18 degree day with windchill right around zero I think.  At least the sun was shining.  rolled my ankle at about mile six, didn't feel it until Sunday.  I think the only parts of me that stayed warm were my feet and my hands.  apparently tights and form fitting wicking shirts underneath other wicking stuff does not = warmth or wind barrier.

Sunday was a rest day.  This a.m. I started my half marathon plan and only did half of it.  Was supposed to be a 4 mile run, mile warmup, two mile fartlek, mile cool down.  While it was cool, at least there was no wind.  It was again about 20, but still my face got pretty cold.  Oh well.  Tomorrow is another day.
