oh yuck...not fun

Kind of like why I am not getting tested for celiac...I'd have to go back on gluten for 3 months so that they could get an accurate result...and then they would just tell me to keep doing what I've already been doing.

having it officially written in my medical records isn't worth 3 months of dysfunction.  Maybe if they come up with a treatment at some point....

and why is dysfunction spelled with a Y and not an I???

So I went to my mom's house and 'helped' out the last two days.  No anxiety attacks, but I was super depressed.  (When I am really depressed I don't get anxiety attacks 'cause I couldn't care less about anything)

My mom was able to go out with friends and run errands...I did a few things around the house - at most a quarter of what I would usually get done.

I have today off, but I need to clean the kitchen floor at my place.  It isn't as easy as one would think.  The kitchen use to be the back porch and when they incorporated it into the house they just sealed the bricks.  Cleaning it involves a scrub brush going over everything thoroughly. It is a large kitchen.

x2. I thought about getting the gluten testing, but I know I feel better without the stuff. So why should I go back on it for three months, just so they can tell me to not eat anymore gluten?

I really miss bread though...... And cake...... And cookies.....

OK, so I cheat every now and then, but not much, really.

Hey, you helped out at your Mom's, and did what you could.. That's all that matters.

The kitchen floor at your place sounds like a crumb-catcher though.

That is SO not worth it!  Eating gluten for 3 months if you know it causes problems sounds miserable.  I can deal with two weeks since I can take Benadryl for most of it.

I am baking a GF DF poppy seed Bundt Cake for Jonathan's Father's 75th Bday Party.

His mom and dad try to go dairy free and his sister is gluten free.  It works out well that I am both DF and GF.  Come to think of it his sister in law is gluten free as well-she has Crohn's disease.

I am not sure if his sister whether his sister will eat any...she has a severe case of celiac disease...doesn't cook with shared utensils or pans.  I did wash everything really well before I started and there hasn't been any gluten ingredients out in the kitchen for the last week, but can't guarantee that the sugar wasn't contaminated by somebody else puting a measuring cup in that had been used just prior with flour.

I am looking for a new place to live...potentially with Brook (my dad's/sister's dog).  He has been driving my mom and little sister crazy.  I think that if the two dogs were separated they would behave better.

I am in contact with two fellows in their mid-twenties with a medium sized room in their house for $390.  No dog, but the price and location are right.  It is hard to find anything less than $500-$600+ that is within the 15x15 mile area (and a few communities beyond that) I am looking in...it isn't like I am being super picky about where I want to live.

There is a place for $475 + half utilities that I am considering, but the fellow is looking for someone a bit older...I will write him and see what happens.  He is ok with a well behaved dog coming.  http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/roo/1885866596.html what do you guys think on this one?    uh...Brook could use a bit of training.  He responds very quickly to training, but it has been too crazy at my mom's house for them to work with him much.

Hi Mel - I say try and meet both places in person and see what you think. I find that living really comes down with can you share with this person and will they respect your own boundaries...

In terms of the dog - it will make it harder but Im sure something will come up if you can be a bit patient... the hardest thing with looking for places is I always seem to be up against a deadline when I do!

I agree with Cat.  You need to meet with them in person and then take it from there.  Good luck, I know it's not fun.
