MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Ann - sorry for the horrible customer service that you experienced. Glad to know that you got a great discount out of it. Robin - I'm sure you are a pretty good discounter also. Don't sell yourself short. Key West is not going to know what hit is after the Ghoulies visit.
And on that note, Good Afternoon Ghoulies! |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Oh, and with all my years of Retail and Library service, I am very picky about customer service. I expect nothing but the best. The last time I bought a car, we actually drove to a dealership that was 1.5 hours away to make the purchase because the one that was only 15 minutes away lied to me. I have never set foot back in there again except to make them do "free" servicing. Paid stuff I take to the other dealer. |

I have never set foot back in there again except to make them do "free" servicing. Paid stuff I take to the other dealer. A few years ago when my husband was buying a truck we were on the lot looking at one, and talking to a salesman. We headed into his office to talk numbers. I don't think he realized we were right behind him, he was facing away from the door and looking at a book, he said - I can let it go for $xx,xxx, I don't remember the exact amount. He turned around and we were there, he said I can sell it to you for $xx,xxx which was $4,000 more than the number he said when he didn't know we were there. I told him you just said you could sell it for $4,000 less. He immediately snapped "I DIDN'T SAY THAT!" We left and bought a truck somewhere else. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Good morning Ghoulies! I ran 1.2 miles on the treadmill. That's half of what I was aiming for. I wore my new shoes that have been sitting on my shoe rack mocking me for months now. This was the second time I've worn them. The first time I didn't have my orthodics in, last night I did. I was getting rubbed raw on the arch of my foot so I stopped. I'm going to try them tonight without the orthodics and see how that goes. |

I was reading the book "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed before I went to bed. She hiked a little over 1,100 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. She was stupid, foolish, unprepared, and had absolutely no idea what she was getting herself into. If she can hike that, we can most certainly hike the AT!!! |

I was following a car with the AT bumpersticker on it and was thinking about our future hike. I never head of that book, I may have to check it out. I have no doubt at all that we could do the AT, no doubt at all. |

Good stuff, and good people, for sure. Oh, and you need to come buy a treadmill for me. Er, haggle for me. I need one, but the hubby would say no. But I figure if he can buy a boat without my ok, I can buy a treadmill, right? I haven't done any homework on it yet, though. Which are the better types to buy? I haven't the faintest idea what's good and what's not. Help! |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Did I mention to you guys that my daughter injured herself running? She's had shin splints this summer, then about 4 weeks ago, she realized that the pain was in a totally different part of her leg. We've been concerned about a stress fracture for a couple weeks, but the xray they took a few weeks ago was read by the radiologist as normal, so she's been going to physical therapy, and cut back on her running quite a bit. The sports med doc we went to today looked at it for about 20 seconds and said "well, it IS normal. Except for this sress fractur right...THERE." Yep. There's a fracture there. |

(heheheh) Yes, yes we are. In approximately 9-10 years. Robin will be retired, she's hiking. Kendra will be retired, she volunteered to be ground support, meet us with supplies, stuff like that. I'll still have a job, but the kiddos will be old enough that I can leave for a few months to do the hike. You are welcome to join us! |

Which are the better types to buy? I haven't the faintest idea what's good and what's not. Help! LOVE my BD stuff. I got new trekking poles, they are women specific, the handles are WAY more comfortable than on my old poles, they also are smaller so they fit my hands better. They also way a fraction of what my old trekking poles weigh. I am starting to aquire quite a bit of BD gear. I made good use of the 15% off coupon they sent me. As far as treadmills... I'm with you on the boat/treadmill thing. Just because of shipping costs I wanted to buy one locally, so I looked online at what the local sporting goods store had. Then I started reading reviews. I usually read the reviews they have on their site, then I go to other sites to read reviews, too. The one I got was one of the cheaper ones, but it had way better reviews than the more expensive ones. I usually believe you get what you pay for, but the reviews swayed me this time, and so far I'm happy. My treadmill has the + and - buttons to change elevation and speed, but it also have numbers 1-10 on it, so you can just hit a number for the speed or elevation you want. I really like this, I'll be able to run intervals on it without having to hit a little button 50 times to change speeds. |
