The stars are not aligned in my favor.  The day was off to a good start with a rockin' endurance ride but then, for the first time ever I couldn't get a lane in the fancy gym's pool... three people waiting and at least a couple in each lane.  Soooo, no worries, went to get my nails done and they were so busy I have to go back later.  WTF?  Don't all the soccer moms know they are supposed to get their nails done BEFORE Thanksgiving for optimum primp-a-tization?  OK, fine, so I'll walk next door and swim... except that at the "other" gym, there is no towel service and it's BYOL (bring your own lock)... and I am towel-less and lockless.  *SIGH*

I'll try again later.  Or maybe I'll just hang out and eat leftovers with my tacky looking fingers whilest mocking my training plan .

At least you tried! I'm just getting out of bed. Yes, it is 11:00. No, I didn't drink alcohol. Training plan? What training plan? You mean I'm some sort of athlete?

Hey look Pam - according to this article, no need for a special liquid diet :-)

Thanks for the link! And I agree that the pool is tuff on manicures.

Mornin' All...

Though I feel like I should be eating lunch by now.  Got up at 4:30 (with no alarm clock, so I knew it was meant to be.)  Went to ToysRUs and stood in a line that had to have been 100 yards, ran in place to keep warm (chilly 18 degrees out) - Well I at least got my hear trate somewhat up, though I was sweating horribly once in the store.  Managed to get everything on the sale list and more.  CHRISTMAS SHOPING almost done.

Was hoping for time to run, but hubby got called into work.  Oh well, maybe this evening

Now... should I actually get the tree out - or there's still wine chilled in the fridge.

I'm kind of irritated with my last manicure - I got it on a Thursday (the night b4 my big trip) and it was already chipping by Monday

I'm sure it's because my nails are dried out - I wonder if it's all of the time in the pool - probably

Yup, I think that does it.  You know... the pool does that to my nails... and it dries out my skin, makes me sneeze and makes my hair crunchy.  Other than that I really enjoy it .

Morning Heather!

hmmmm, you just helped me make up my mind - I was debating on whether or not I should go for a swim now or start getting decorations down

I think I'll go for my swim now -

  • Instruct my kids to bring down the decorations while I am gone
  • stop and get some wine on the way home
  • commence with the decoration

I think it was the comment about the chilled wine that did it for me - LOL

did you get what you wanted at ToysRUs?

TRU was awesome,I almost left (even gave up my parking spot in front of the port-a-potty) then had second thought.  It was well worth it.  Now if I could get my confirmaiton from my Circuit city Online order, I'd be perfect.  I don't think it went through.

Good Day all. It feels like Christmas at my house. Hubby and I went shopping for the phone system. Got up at 4:30am and walked into Best Buy at 5am. Are we crazy or what?

Anyway, we got the phone system. Then I got a speaker system to hook my ipod up to. We got two Sansa MP3 players have have a FM tuner and will clip on. Hubby wanted one and I got one to maybe raffle off for Relay for Life. Got walkie talkies for the grandsons, and got out of best buy without too much damage.

So since we were up, we headed on over to Kohls. The line for the register wrapped around the store. So hubby got on line while I got some outfits and a game for the grandsons. Then I stood in line while he shopped, and we swapped back and forth for an hour. Yes the line took an hour or maybe even more to get through. It was crazy. Luckily I found a friend and she was opening a new Kohls charge, so she charged my items and I got an extra 10%off. Yahoo.

Then we had breakfast at Ihop. We needed the carbs for we were dying. After Ihop on over to Sams Club to get supplies for the Holiday party we are throwing on Dec 8th (You all are invited). Then to verizon to get bluetooth phones that are compatible with the new phone system. We both got Blackberry Pearls.

After we got home, we kind of looked at each other and said "Merry Christmas" So for actual Christmas morning we just have to get each other one surprise gift. I love surprises.

So I have been up for 8 hours already (and did not get to bed until midnight last night) so I am about to drop. Somewhere I need to find the energy to run.

Oh, I did do some training yesterday. I got 12 miles in on the bike. Did not go to the Silver Comet for the weather was not promising in the morning, so we rode around Stone Mountain. Lots of hills compared to the comet which is fairly flat.

So I have 3 more miles on the bike to go to hit 100% and I think I have about 13 miles of run to go. I'm going to make my goal as long as my PF will behave. Right now I can't walk on my left heel. Yes I am icing it.

Right there w/ ya Kendra!!  I did ToysRUs.

I learned the trick at Kohl's last year, find one item out of the jewelery case, then you can check everything out there.  last year I had jewelry on the list anyhow, so it worked out quite well.

Glad you guys got into Best Buy, with all the laptop specials, that place had to have been a madhouse.

It was a little crazy, but there was a line to get into the computer area, and we weren't going there, and I happened to stumble into the checkout line so hubby just passed everything over the boxes to me and I stayed nice and safe on the checkout line.

We haven't done the day after Thanksgiving shopping for over 8 years and it will more than likely be 8 or more before I ever do it again. Mad house.

Oh, you need to visit Stone Mountain. It is something. I liked it better before they really started commercializing it, but there are still lots of areas in the park you can stay away from that. The lazer show is fun during the warm months. Next time you come to Atlanta make it the warm months and be sure to go to the lazer show.

We've got a plant in Atlanta.  Last time I came down, Mila hosted me for a day at LA Fitness and Lifetime...don't know if I'll get back any time soon...

Back to the 'honey-do' list.  Oh, here's the race report and a general pic...

My wife's favorite is the little finger of the right hand, mine is the ring finger of the left hand, thought the fuschia on the right hand middle finger is a close second!  I smudged the black on the right and index finger and after the photo was taken, replaced it with a copper color.  Hmmm.
