Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Nibbs XLI Artemis - 2009-10-17 10:21 AM D001 - 2009-10-16 11:18 PM Artemis - 2009-10-16 11:12 PM I had a follow-up appointment today. The doctor said I "can't always be an overachiever" and to take it slow. Nothing is infected, but some people take weeks to months to feel better. I have another appointment in two weeks. Hopefully I'll get permission to do some workouts then. I know I won't be able to run, but I'm hoping I can at least bike by then. How are you feeling? A little better. Still some pain, but I've figured out how to deal with the nausea better. Very little fat, little protein, and mostly carbs seems to be the best diet. Today I hate 1,150 calories, 12% of which was protein and 10% of which was fat. Not so bad. It's the most I've had in a week and a half and a lot of liquid calories. The incisions are itching like crazy. One is driving me crazy near my bra line. My doc said it's raised because I'm "skinny". I laughed at him. You ARE an overachiever. Glad you were able to take some nutrition in. Mmmm ... don't wear a bra. You'll feel better and so will any males who happen to be wandering around. |

Most of the time, I wear a sports bra so I don't have to deal with the underwire, but even that can cause problems. |

What about a sportas crop top or something... offers a little support nad coverage but made of something like soft cotton etc.. Then again I cant imagine leaving the house without a bra in any circumstances! |

Today I wanted to be less scrubby because I"m going to a lecture by a Nobel Laureate. He probably won't see me, but I feel better not looking like crap at those. Tomorrow may be a tshirt and a hoodie day. No one really cares around here too much. |

How was the lecture? I went to two. The first was a more informal thing with grad students and postdocs - we got to ask questions and hear him talk about his path and give advice. That was good. The second one was the big lecture with a couple hundred people. I fell asleep for part of it! I feel really bad, but I was SO tired at that point. |
