It's Monday, and therefore not very happy! Need an afternoon nap!

I feel the same way.

I spilled coffee all over myself this morning.  It looks dumb.

Oh no! I hope after that you still got to drink some....

Yeah, I just have a coffee stain on the front of my tshirt.  It was annoying.

so incredibly depressed today.  I did go out and take care of a couple things.  And I've been feeding myself.

Maneesh is going to my Psych appointment with me tomorrow to advocate for me.

I think that it is time to look into alternative treatment options.  I've been on all the different antidepressants alone and in combination with other meds.  They only take the edge off and often leave me feeling numb.  When the doses are increased I am plagued by anxiety.

Sucks.

Aww Mel - Im so sorry to hear that you are still struggling...

I cant imagine what its like having it so badly but I think having someone to be objective and on your side for your appointment is a great idea!

Its great that you are still eating and getting out and doing small things... just leaving the house and achieving ONE thing in a day can be such a big deal so I hope you are able to celebrate your wins and see the positives ]

Hang in there!

Morning Nibbs! This thread needs some more TLC.

Let's play the question game!
Who has seen Inception, and if you have, what did you think?
Anyone have a race coming up?
Anyone reading books?
Is anyone into cartoons? Can you recommend some good ones (for adults)?
What are some of your guilty pleasures?

And now - I answer my own questions!

Who has seen Inception, and if you have, what did you think?
I thought it was pretty incredible. Probably the best movie I've seen since Star Trek last year.

Anyone have a race coming up?
I have a 10k in a few months. Have never run that far in my life, so it should be interesting!

Anyone reading books?
Currently reading 4 books - 2 photography books (one on light and the other on general photography), 1 on Visual Basic programming (I'm a total nerd) and I'm on the 2nd book in the Temeraire series (which I highly recommend if you like fantasy stories - or just like dragons)

Is anyone into cartoons? Can you recommend some good ones (for adults)?
Not really into cartoons, but I really enjoyed The Last Airbender series. Looking for other cartoons to sink my teeth into.

What are some of your guilty pleasures?
Chips and salsa (I cannot turn this down - it's my kryptonite)
Ice cream or frozen custard
Pancakes

Morning Nibbs! This thread needs some more TLC.

Let's play the question game!

Who has seen Inception, and if you have, what did you think?
I have not seen it.

Anyone have a race coming up?
Not until September's 5K. Actually, I think they course may be interesting. It's an out-and-back, where the first half is all downhill, which means the second half is uphill.

Anyone reading books?
Yes. Reading Mark Cavendish's book right now.

Is anyone into cartoons? Can you recommend some good ones (for adults)?
Hm. Not really.

What are some of your guilty pleasures?
Tasering people. Oh wait, you knew that already. Plus, I have no guilty feelings about it.
Hm. I spend too much time playing Bejewled Blitz on FB. Although Cat and Judi know this already, probably.
I'm also way too addicted to email. I need to stop checking it so frequently.

Jen, what were your initial thoughts on the first Temeraire book?
I checked out the xkcd comic... I didn't get it, maybe not for me. The Questionable Comment comic, I did get - and thought was hilarious. Huge fan of Penny Arcade.

Dee - so much for a negative split on that 5k course, eh?

I'm feeling a bit better today...started a medication change last night.  I hate that it takes 9 months on a medication and stuggling with anxiety issues the entire time before someone connects the fact that a known side effect of the medication can be anxiety problems and might be the source of all the anxiety issues I've been having.

mchally - 2010-08-08 1:49 PM I am baking a GF DF poppy seed Bundt Cake for Jonathan's Father's 75th Bday Party.

His mom and dad try to go dairy free and his sister is gluten free.  It works out well that I am both DF and GF.  Come to think of it his sister in law is gluten free as well-she has Crohn's disease.

I am not sure if his sister whether his sister will eat any...she has a severe case of celiac disease...doesn't cook with shared utensils or pans.  I did wash everything really well before I started and there hasn't been any gluten ingredients out in the kitchen for the last week, but can't guarantee that the sugar wasn't contaminated by somebody else puting a measuring cup in that had been used just prior with flour.

I saw that recipe.  I'm totally going to try it!  Sounded really good!!!
feel free to cut out some of the sugar...it is so, so, so very rich.

oh...I figured out where I am going to live.

I thought of a past roommate that I had gotten along really well with and gave him a call.  It turns out that one gal that has been with him the last year is moving out at the end of the month to live closer to school/work and another gal that moved in last month sent him an email this morning that it wasn't going to work out.  She has some issues...mental, financial, etc and decided to get into some sort of program.

Anyway, he was fretting this morning about what he was going to do with both rooms empty when I gave him a call...

I will have my old room back.  $475 a month, utilities, wifi, and laundry included.  Plus it is furnished (if I want) with a new bed, desk, etc.

It is very nice to have that resolved.

Plus I will have a hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, biking, etc buddy again.  Oh...he considers me family and will share his REI employee discounts too.

k, I'll play a little...I saw inception twice...second time on a IMAX.  Great special effects, interesting concepts, but in some ways not very good depth of character.  People don't respond naturally...like in the scene where the cute gal goes to the basement in the dream elevator...The fellow hardly responded to her invasion of his privacy.  (Don't think that really spoiled anything for those who haven't seen it yet)

But all in all...I really enjoyed it.  Suggestion...don't drink a lot before or during the movie.  It is nearly 3 hours long and, unless you are sitting on the edge by the door, it is awkward and a bit rude to get up and try to pass everyone during the movie.  I made that mistake and, despite choosing slower moments in the movie, felt like a toad when I had to get up.

I can definitely understand some of the shallow character development. I just found the actual subject very intriguing that I went along for the ride.
