yogachic - 2010-04-13 6:31 AM Helllllooooooo A-Team!  It looks like a beautiful day today for a run, which is perfect because I'm planning on doing 1k intervals tonight.  I really like doing speedwork - hopefully it's working Tongue out

I hate actually doing the speedwork but I absolutely love going for a run and all of a sudden realizing that I really am getting faster! Anyway, my point is that i'm thinking the same will happen for you!

Thanks, I think so too!  I've been training with the same marathon group since January, and I realized I've been getting faster because if I'm not in front, I keep running into the person in front of me!  And if I'm in front, I end up leaving the group behind!  Luckily, another girl in my group is also getting faster, so we leave our group behind together.  (Of course, we could easily just switch to a faster group, but we've been training with the same people for 4 months so we don't want to switch groups especially now that the program's almost over!)

Ok, so I did get my run intervals in today, but I was feeling so sluggish doing them!  My legs just felt really heavy, but I didn't seem to have any problems holding speed.  I'll just chalk it up to being in taper mode.

Here is a picture of the snowman I built with my daughters this morning. We had 6" of snow when we woke up, and it snowed until mid-afternoon. Much of it melted, and the snowman only stood until 6 p.m. Then he keeled over.

This is my youngest daughter. She is 6' tall.
The arms are my ski poles.
The hat is the water trough we use for the sheep in the summer, and the brim is a bike wheel from our bike boneyard.

That is soooo cool!! My daughter has never seen snow (unless you count when she was 1 month old, before moving here) so she is totally enamored with snowmen. When I showed her this she was so excited!

Just finished my ride.  It wasn't as windy this afternoon...so I was able to truck along much faster.  Didn't have to shift down into the small chain ring into the wind...

Oh my, that is awesome!!!  But I'm hurting just thinking of how heavy my little snow balls were this winter on our puny in comparison snowman...  You two rock!

kimk - 2010-04-13 10:33 PM For once I am glad we were not tooo chatty! I am whiped out...off to bed I go, tomorrow is another long day with cycle, body pump, yoga and a water class, I will also get my swim in, then I am meeting up with a friend at the LBS while she gets her fit. should be a good time. Sweet dreams A team!

Ugh!  I still need to get my bike into the LBS for a tuneup and to get my gear shifter fixed.  I keep putting it off because it'll be a few days that I won't be able to get my drainer ride in.  I'm quite the procrastinator!

Good morning A-Team,
I decided to forgo the morning workout and will head over to the Y at lunch.  I didn't get the best night's sleep, so I figured rest was more important.  Only 12 more days until my 20-week training program starts!  I look forward to the much more structured schedule.  It's a beautiful day here today... mid 60's and sunny.  Perfect for my daughter's softball game tonight.  Sorry to those of you that are still getting snow...

I totally scrapped my workout yesterday.  I have been feeling so run down lately that I decided to go to bed early instead.  I then had the most bizarre dreams last night that I didn't sleep well anyway.  Well, the whole trying to sleep thing was worth a shot!

So today, I have lots to do.  I'm going to get my swim in this afternoon.  We have my daughter's first soccer practice tonight which will be fun (hopefully).  Tonight, I'll get on the trainer .  I still have to make up the run from yesterday at some point...  but I'm trying to be realistic about how much I can actually do in one day!

Thankfully, we are picking up our other car from the shop tomorrow so I won't have to continue driving my husband around anymore!  I've had enough of the "backseat driving".  Wink

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-14 9:23 AM Morning everyone - back from KC and while I was gone for the day it turns out that my father is going to be admitted to a local nursing home for some respit care due to some health concerns from his parkinsons.  He has lived with us for 4 years now.  Basically my wife was the bearer of all the news since I was gone and I have to give kudos when deserved - she did a great job handling it all.  I spoke to the doctor (a friend) last night as my only part in the process.  We are waiting to hear back from the insurance company to determine which action to take and when it will happen.

Could be today - could be next week.  Guess our God knows a lot more than I do - LOL.  I asked for clarity on the TransIowa withdrawal and this wipes the fog away pretty quickly if I do say so myself.

I will be around - not totally with it yet - 5 hours of sleep with 20 hours of travel will do that to Bill (me not the other one - LOL).

Hope you all had a great day yesterday - our weather is beyond words.  Time for a bike ride tonight - in the dirt!!!

Welcome back, Bill!  Sorry to hear about your dad.  I hope everything works out.

We had an old door lying around, so we tried to slide the middle ball up on the door, but we were too wimpy. So, we cut the ball in half with a rope and slid each half up the door and put them together. We cut the head in half, too. I handed each half to my daughter, who was on a ladder. They really were heavy! I'm not sure how much the bottom one weighs, but it is a lot!
